I’m in the market for a good hair butter. Something that will leave my hair supple and easy to manage. I just tried Karen’s Body Beautiful Butter Love and really liked it. But do your readers have any other suggestions?
Alright ladies, help her out! What is your favorite hair butter?

I love Carol’s Daughter Healthy Hair Butter for my hair. Especially around my edges.
I have also made a concoction of pure shea butter, extra virgin olive oil, a touch of tea tree oil, coconut oil and lemongrass scented shea butter. My hair needs different things for different sections so sometimes I used different products for each section.
Shea butter…natural Shea butter. Nothing works better for me and it’s cost effective.
I have wonderful results from Afro Veda’s “Totally Twisted Ginger Hair Butter.”
Qhemet Biologics Amla and Olive Heavy Cream is like hair cream, butter, hair dress all in the one and the best product I have used for my dry 4c hair. It needs to be sold in Walmart or Sally’s seriously. I love that stuff.
Another vote for Elasta QP. My twist outs are a thing of beauty.
My hair loves the Koils by Nature hair butter- it’s a whipped shea butter with a bunch of oils added.
The Shea Moisture’s Restorative Mask. It can be used as a frizz free leave in instead of a DC mask and that’s how I prefer it. Crazy moisture and shiny, defined twist-outs!
I LOVEEEE R&B by lush. Has anyone else tried it?
Hey i use r&b at the moment.it is working really well and the scent is totally lush !!!
Stumbled on this site for solomons daughter…and joined them on facebook…fell in love…they do a to-die-for hair butter shea lavender smiles…its absolutely gorgeous keeps my scalp moisturised but NOT greased-up!!! and keeps my curls soft and defined….I also did a blow out with it an my hair felt COTTON CANDY SOFT !!!plus i walked around college all day smelling of lavender….im a newbie to this but def. my fave so far!!
Oyin whipped pudding is great!
Jane Carter Solution Nourish and Shine and Taliah Waajid’s Style and Shine for kids.(I have no kids but this works great on my hair for twists)
i love love love!!! bee mine’s curly butter!!!!!–my hair just loves it and its a staple in my twist/braid-out routine.
Another vote for Qhemet’s Amla and Olive Heavy Cream. Love!
I use shea butter after moisturizing the hair with a water and aloe vera mix. The variety of shea butter that I use is from Sudan.
I use a homemade mix of pure shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, and castor oil. The 1st time I didn’t like the consistency of my mix, so I’ve been experimenting with how to get it “creamier.” Homemade concoctions are the ish because you can tailor them to your hair’s needs! 🙂
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie!! Its all natural, leaves my hair soft, non greasy, its only $10 for 12oz!!!!! IT lasts a month! Honestly, I would not use it as a moisturizer alone, I use it every other day in combination with my glycerin spritz or plain water. I guess it really depends on what you want to use it as….I use hair butters sort of as a leave in conditioner, that I apply every other day..or to give my hair some definition, hold or additional softness.
Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream. Best thing ever for my kinky/coily, fine hair.
I use Carol’s Daughter Healthy Hair Butter is makes my 4a/b fro soooo soft and bouncy.
I still love Asha’s The Mane Attraction Hair Butter. Been using it since around 2005/2006. That’s the one thing that I will go out of my way to spend money for.
Qhemet Burdock Root Cream!!! Its so moisturizing
i’m with diana, qhemet’s biologics olive and amla heavy cream

I LOVE LOVE LOVE avocado butter!
Qhem’s BRBC comes in a close second….
I use a homemade mix of shea butter, aloe vera gel and a little bit of honey. It smells good and works wonders on my hair and skin.
Besides the homemade stuff I make myself (which also is a miracle on my skin) My fave is Shea Amla butter from goodahairmart.com and I bet it’s the cheapest too! only about $9

my homemade concoction for hair butter is Raw Shea butter, olive oil, jojoba oil, and grape seed oi.l you can add peppermint extract or cocoa butter for scent. I put on low heat on my stove to bring everything together then let cool and then I pour in one of those salon applicator bottles (usually $1). Next time I make, i think I’m gonna put on “whip” in my blender to see if I get a nice whipped cream texture
Qhemet Biologics Alma and olive heavy cream… Hands down… The best butter I’ve ever used on my 4c hair
I am with MimiW. Elasta QP Mango Butter Olive Oil moisturizer is reasonably priced. I use it to set my hair in braids or twists. The next morning I have a nice twist or braid out.
WHIP shea butter, just add fav oils to raw unrefined shea butter and whip for less greasy feel add cornstarch.
I also personally love KBB hair butters
good luck!
Cupuacau Butter by Pura Body Naturals! leaves hair alot softer than most shea butter based products.

Lots of people like straight shea butter or coconut oil. I make a pomade that I sell that has both, and that I love. In fact, I’m going to put some on right now.
