So we turned this popular post from our Instagram into a Facebook ad. It shows Tila scooping our top selling Vanilla Whipped Shea Butter;
Most of the comments on the ad have been about how droolworthy the butter looks, but not everyone was impressed. A few days ago we got this comment;
“Those are the only 5 ingredients? Sounds easy to make at home then not gonna lie”
This was my response;
“Yes 
And we have sold raw butter since day 1 for our customers who prefer to whip their own products at home Our ingredient lists are public, for anyone who wants to give it a shot. We sell completed products because we chill and whip our mixtures for several hours to get the texture you see above. And a lot of people don’t want to do that at home. To each his or her own, for sure.”
Honestly I no longer get defensive or offended when people ask this question because it’s a valid one! People have been making their own body butter at home, or selling it cheap on Etsy for years. Why should they buy it from us?
Well, for the same reason you buy sourdough bread or ice cream or caramel popcorn — you appreciate the convenience and the craftsmanship.
Shea, cocoa and mango butter are really tough ingredients to work with. In their raw state they are sticky, greasy and hard. For the past 10 years we’ve been taking these rough starting ingredients and turned them into light, airy, fragrant and beautiful finished products — without the use of any chemicals, water, starch, gum or wax (or all the fake fragrance and random dyes you see on IG.)
We love what we do! And we feel so lucky that we have a customer base that loves it too! Some people love the convenience of just ordering their body butter from a website, as opposed to making it from scratch. And we’re here for it. 🤗💗
