Recently, I noticed that my eczema was starting to flare up above my lip. This has always been a very sensitive area for my skin and an area where I’ve had eczema scars. After some reflection, I figured that my skin was changing due to the weather. In Atlanta, it was finally starting to get warmer, although we still had our cooler days. I noticed that the skin on my face feels a little bit drier at times especially on and around my lips.
My dermatologist advised me to stop using one of the products that she had suggested, because my skin was more sensitive to it now. She also told me to just focus on making sure my face stayed moisturized. At first, I was just using my CeraVe moisturizer. But then I noticed that it would irritate my skin sometimes and make my eczema scars even worse. So I stopped using it and tried BGLH whipped shea butter instead. My skin immediately reacted positively and I noticed the eczema scars were starting to fade also.
Now, before you start putting shea butter on your face, I have a few words of advice. First, you don’t need a lot. Especially if you already have an oily face, you don’t want to add too much additional oil. Second, be mindful of the scents you choose to put on your face. Due to my skin being sensitive, I don’t put minty scents on my face. I use lighter and warmer scents like vanilla.
The minty scents are great for your body, but I try to avoid any tingly feelings on my face. (Here is more information about putting BGLH whipped butters on your face.)
I know CeraVe is a popular moisturizer, but for me BGLH Marketplace worked better. It’s lightweight, can be used any time of year and it’s synthetic-free, so you don’t have to deal with irritation.
What about you? Have you tried CeraVe? How does it compare to BGLH, in your experience?

Can you please recommend a cream or oil for fading surgery scars. Thank you
Hi Sondra,
All of our products work well for this! They work so well, in fact, that a reconstructive surgeon has begun recommending them as a post-surgery treatment! You can read about that here: https://bglh-marketplace.com/2023/11/in-our-first-doctors-office-%f0%9f%8e%89%f0%9f%a9%ba/
