Tata Harper is a luxury skincare brand that uses mostly farm-grown ingredients. I haven’t tried their products, but I’ve been a fan of their marketing and approach for quite some time.
In terms of price point, Tata Harper is way more expensive than BGLH Marketplace. As an example, they sell a 6 oz body balm for $185… that’s more than four times our price!
I was on their website the other day when I saw a new banner at the top of their desktop homepage. It read “High-Performance Natural Skincare Without a Drop of Synthetic Chemicals.”
It’s the first time I’ve seen a skincare brand outside of ours advertise their non-synthetic status!
BGLH has been synthetic-free since day one, and always very vocal about it. As lawsuits against unsafe synthetic ingredients pile up, we’ve wanted to make clear that our brand is zero risk and our products are completely safe.
We’re grateful that more brands are adopting a synthetic-free approach, and that synthetic-free is being associated with luxury.
The truth is that dangerous synthetics in beauty products is kind of a worst case scenario.
What is far more common is synthetics being used for cost cutting and product uniformity. Synthetic chemicals are cheaper and less nourishing alternatives to rich plant sources.
In that sense a lack of synthetics really is luxury, as you are getting a product that is both nutrient rich and non toxic.
