Struggling with eczema can be super discouraging. But we have 5 tips to help you successfully combat it.
1. Moisturize like there’s no tomorrow
Keep your skin hydrated like it’s your full-time job. Slather on moisturizer right after you shower and whenever your skin feels dry. Look for fragrance-free, gentle moisturizers that are made for sensitive skin. (Like our whipped butters!) Skip the fancy lotions and go for thick creams or ointments—they work like magic.Â

2. Play detective with your triggers
Eczema can be sneaky, but you can outsmart it. Pay attention to what sets off your flare-ups. It could be certain foods, allergens, stress, or even weather changes. Once you figure out your triggers, try your best to avoid them. Keep a journal to track your symptoms and catch those troublemakers.
3. Show your skin some love
Treat your skin with care. Ditch the scalding hot showers and opt for lukewarm ones instead. Harsh soaps and body washes? No, thank you. Use mild, fragrance-free cleansers that are gentle on your skin. And remember, after you hop out of the shower, gently pat yourself dry with a soft towel. No rubbing.
4. Dress for comfort
Stick to breathable fabrics like cotton, so your skin can breathe easy. Say no to tight, scratchy clothes that can irritate your eczema-prone skin. Oh, and don’t forget to wash new clothes before wearing them—get rid of any irritating stuff in the fabric.
5. Get expert help
If your eczema is playing hardball, it’s time to call in the professionals. Reach out to a dermatologist or allergist who can guide you. They might suggest topical corticosteroids or calcineurin inhibitors to help you get a handle on your eczema. In some cases, they might recommend phototherapy or systemic medications.
One cool thing we’ve found is many customers use our butters instead of topical steroids, because they are so potent.
Remember, eczema is a unique journey for each person, so it might take a little trial and error to find what works best for you. Take care of yourself by eating well, managing stress, and getting enough beauty sleep—these things can also have an impact on your eczema. Good luck, and keep that skin happy!
