Did you know that shea butter has a negative carbon footprint? That’s right. Shea forests, which exist for 200 to 300 years, help suck carbon out of the atmosphere. The website TreeHugger explains;
“Shea has an enormous potential to mitigate climate change in West Africa… Relative to production volumes, every ton of shea kernels produced has a negative carbon footprint of 1.04 tonnes of CO2.”
