Why You Need Whipped Shea Butter Even if You Use Water-Based Lotion

Maybe you have a water-based lotion at home that smells good and works just fine! Why should you give whipped shea butter a try? Well there are a few reasons;

1. Water-based lotion doesn’t hold up well in cold, dry weather. As the kids say water-based lotions “hit different” when your skin is being blasted with arctic air. At that point you need something more robust. Our whipped butters are incredibly rich without being heavy and greasy. They’ll keep your skin moisturized and supple for hours, even in dry weather. Use them directly, or layer them on top of a water-based lotion.
2. Your lotion isn’t healing your skin. You might like it, it might smell great, but it’s doing nothing for eczema, scars and stretch marks. Our butters do. We’d like to say it’s because we came up with some super secret ingredient. But no, it’s just the power of shea butter. Last year our whipped butters were recommended by plastic surgeons as a post-surgery scar treatment. 
3. Synthetic fragrance isn’t always safe. As a clean skincare brand we try to stay away from fear mongering, Because the truth is that many synthetic chemicals are 100% safe. Unfortunately, fragrance might not be one of them. 😬 Synthetic fragrance has a pretty terrible reputation when it comes to safety. We’re not recommending that you throw out your favorite scented lotion.
