Big beauty companies have to ship to millions of people, so they add chemicals and preservatives to their products to keep them fresh and consistent — known as ‘shelf stability’.
Here’s the thing though — a lot of those chemicals take away from effectiveness, and some are dangerous.
Take whipped butter. Many brands add starches, waxes and gums to keep the texture firm. Unfortunately those ingredients do not absorb well into the skin.
Our whipped butters contain 3 main ingredients — butter, oil and essential oils (if the butter is scented.) We don’t add filler of any kind. Instead we encourage refrigeration to prevent melting at high temperatures.
