As I shared recently I’m currently looking for a job — as the owner of a small business that as recently as April 2025 was generating more than $60,000 in monthly revenue. That number has more than halved since then, falling so pricipitously it’s almost comical (so far today this business has made $94.70.) And so now, with all my hope, blood, tears, sweat and savings tied up into this little business, I’m having to pivot.
Today I applied to be the director of a nearby after school program. Fingers crossed that I get it.
Today I’m going to give you some untraditional advice. It’s this: DON’T go for it.
As someone who took risks, I an tell you now at age 40, It is not always worth it.
