Cut.com has set the internet a buzz with its titillating time-lapse video of black beauty through the decades. This is a follow-up to their previously released video from a month ago, 100 Years of Beauty in 1 Minute which featured a white model. Starting in 1910, the video takes viewers on a journey of black beauty trends all the way to the current 2010s. It’s definitely worth the watch to catch some of the styles you might have rocked in these past decades.

What do you think of the video? Did you notice some of the trends are cycling back around?

  1. I’m 19 and I’m going to watch the video. I can just picture me and other women wearing all of these styles. It is very versatile. I can post this on google +.

  2. I love historical images and these styles are very interesting. I wander what products they used to create these styles given the limited products available during certain periods…

  3. This is great! I love the 50s and 60s.. We need tutorial on the 50s look – I’ve worked out the fringe bit but cant see what they did in the back! lol
    love the video!

  4. The 1980s should have been a Jheri Curl, lol.
And the 2010s should have been a twist out.
But other than that, pretty cool video!

    1. I was thinking the same thing about the 80s! Either a jheri curl or a relaxed style. No one wore their hair natural and loose in the 80s

  5. I would’ve done something different for 2010 and had wavy hair. I see that more than afros nowadays
