This year’s BET Awards delivered in the best way possible. We wonder if they are contemplating changing the ceremony to the ‘Woke Awards’ after Jessie William’s speech literally chin-checked the rampant anti-blackness and police brutality whilst still giving props to the black women who are holding it all together.
We also took notice the Red Carpet got a lot more alluring with many stars stepping out in protective styles a la Ghana braids, Goddess locs and more.

They are mesmerizing to look at. I forgot about those Marley Twists. This natural hair exposure is high, even the ones who go back to weave are at least recognizing that they can wear more than just straight hair.
Black women can pull any look off but I looooove this!!!
I guess after all the hoopla over the Super Bowl performance Beyonce tossed in a token white girl in her Formation dancers?
