Videos of Ethiopian women whipping their hair have now gone viral. The women featured are apart of the Oromo nation. The Oromo typically live in western and southern Ethiopia and parts of Kenya and Somalia.
The dance in particular is known as the “Shoa Oromo” or Oromo head twisting. It features fast and sharp movement of the head and neck which creates the whipping illusion.

The dance can even be seen in another viral video of a sorority stroll off.
This is definitely one for the record books.

I enjoyed watching this on the bus. They have rhythm and moves. This is worth sharing and I watched all the videos. Yeah it was very entertaining;very nice. I did not know this type of dance existed.

So that’s where sororities get it from. While it’s a beautiful dance I just wonder how they manage not to break their necks. I got a headache just from watching.
