Remember Kyemah McEntyre? she won Prom Queen as well as the hearts of the internet with her fierce self-designed African-inspired prom gown.

Well all the internet recognition paid off as she scored a super sweet gig right out of high school. McEntyre was commissioned to design Power actress, Naturi Naughton’s gown for the BET Awards which took place this past Sunday.

Naturi’s gown was a traditional mermaid shape with an intricate cross-back design.

Kyemah took to her instagram to gush about the opportunity.

What do you think of Naturi’s dress? Are you looking forward to more of Kyemah’s designs?

  1. Beautiful, Best of luck to you! Live your dream of sharing your creativity with others while building your brand! Just Awesome!

  2. I really like it. Yeah I saw her hosting the Afterparty on Sunday night. I think it’s so cool how she does not look embarrassed to stand out and have a identity. I think it’s an elating feeling to hear a senior, let alone, a teenager like me recognize herself as her and she’s not embarrassed. Most teen girls would react(if you wored that) “WTH is she wearing?” Or “Nuh uh, put something else.” I love African prints!
