3-time World Champion sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce carried out her Olympic flag bearer duties in style, donning a Jamaican-flag inspired ombre style.

Fraser-Pryce explained that the style took quite some time:
“I got my hair dyed green and yellow for the team. My friend in Miami did it and it took about three hours.”
The Jamaican flag is black, green and gold. Black stands for the strength and creativity of the Jamaican people, green for the verdent countryside and gold for the abundant sunshine.
Fraser-Pryce has been known over the years for creatively exerting her country’s pride with her hairstyles. In the 2015 IAAF, she donned green and black box-braids and adorned the top of her head with a crown of sunflowers.

Here’s to the #carefreeblackgirls going for that Olympic gold!
