One of the most eligible bachelorettes in the world is officially off the market.
Tennis superstar Serena Williams, 35, is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, 33. According to various reports, the two began dating quietly in October 2015 but have kept their relationship off of social media.
Ohanian proposed to Williams in Rome. She recounted the proposal with a poem on her verified Reddit account.

Someone had a bag packed for me

Ohanian shared the poem on his Facebook account with the caption “She said yes.”
Williams has dated rappers Common and Drake (twice), which sparked a brief rap beef between the two. (Common famously referred to Drake as “Canada Dry”.) Ohanian’s public profile is much lower but he is a star in his own right. Slate Magazine described the 6′ 5″ tech professional in a 2015 article about their relationsihp;
“Ohanian, 32, is in many ways the archetypal tech bro. A University of Virginia graduate, he’s geeky and boyishly enthusiastic, handsome by tech-startup standards, and earnestly idealistic to an extent that stands out even in Silicon Valley, where everyone’s busy making the world a better place. Yeah I totally agree. I find it very hypocritical for the black females that praise a black woman for having a white man but then will turn around and diss a black man for having a white woman. Race shouldn’t matter when it comes to loving someone.
It’s different because of the double standard against black women dating outside of their race. Black women are disowned or physically/emotionally threatened and outright discouraged from dating out often from the same men that practice interracial dating. That’s why the response is different!
