Wow. I hadn’t seen this post and the reactions it got from people, until just now. I think she looks great. New body and new hair. We were talking about her hair right? How great it looks natural?
All those older pics of Raven posted where some of you guys are saying she “looks healthier”, just because she has a bit more flesh on her body doesn’t mean that she is “healthier”. For all we know, internally she may be very unhealthy.
She looks great. So glad she lost all of the weight. Before this she looked absolutely terrible and out of shape. A lot of people have the mentality that they are curvy when they are indeed just fat. You go Raven!
Personal opinion she did shed a little too much weight… I hope she doesn’t plan to shed anymore. She is very pretty and always has been but the initial photo does seem a bit unhealthy… hopefully this has been photo shopped or something =/
I think her style and hair is cute in these pics. Her face does look funny to me in the middle pic, but I think that is just a bad picture taken at the wrong moment. Everyone has them sometimes. She looks thinner than I’ve ever seen her, but I don’t think she is too small.
Her hair is cute. I’ve never seen it this big. The headband is coming off a little young to me. Overall though, I think she’s finally looking her age with her natural curls and the weight loss.

I cannot believe how much comment this post generated! I have to say that at first I thought she did have a gaunt look about her. But upon closer inspection I think she looks great. I think it was just my shock at seeing her so thin. I think when people are used to seeing you one way and then all of a sudden there’s a change they weren’t expecting it can throw them. When I think of ‘haggard’ I think of the way Nicole Ritchie looked after losing all of that weight a while back. But Raven looks really good. The second picture just looked like they snapped it at the wrong moment. And don’t we all have pictures like that that we hate!
I don’t get how ppl so easily get off track. The topic is her curly fro, how the heck did so many ppl turn it into body image and weight. Her hair is very cute, I would love to have such a full hairline. I wish she had worn a different type of fascinator, instead of that ribbon headband thingy that babies usually wears. Before I read any of the comments, the first thing that came to mind was “She looks sick!” That’s not because she is skinny. She DOES look unhealthy to me, that is just my opinion. I am an overweight woman, and I know for health’s sake that I need to lose weight. I will not however get to the point of skin and bones because that will not be any better. I see old pictures of myself and yes, I do look sickly when I am under a certain weight. I am proud of her loss, and her hair is lovely. I just think she may have taken it too far. There, I said it.
Yes, she does! Sometimes angles plays tricks on the eye! We’ve all taken a picture and say it and what like, “What the WHAT”.
As for a people saying skinny isn’t for everybody…no actually being fat isn’t for anybody. I feel like a lot of black women try to make themselves believe they are okay with being overweight because they feel like they’ve tried everything and nothing working. It’s hard to change generations of bad eating and misinformation about what we are supposed to look like.

Raven looks so good!!! I can’t believe. Her hair first off looks healthy and lively. But her weightloss looks so amazing!!! Her jawline is now more chissled and defined. She just looks really good with all of that weight off of her. Back when she was on “Thats so Raven” it always seemed like they were trying to hide her weight under layers and layers of clothing. Everybody loves to talk about accepting different body types but as soon as we see someone who’s thin and not “curvy”, that whole thing gets thrown out of the window and they get called “anorexic” and “sickly”. I’ve been thin all of my life (it runs on my mothers side of my family) and I get sick of people telling me to eat more and be a certain weight just because I’m not a size 8 and/or curvy. Some people in this society are hypocritical and either need to have a seat, or stop being hypocritical when they say all body types are beautiful one minute, but then turn around and tell people who are skinner to eat more to fit into what you and others in society perceive to be an “accepted” weight. I guess it comes with the territory of fame, but I agree that people’s attitudes are too often unfair, ridiculous and inconsistent. One day a certain female celebrity is pressured to lose weight and when they do, another group is insisting that she lost too much. One day the media is “concerned” about celebrities being anorexic and the next day the tabloids are exposing another group of women because they have 6 dimples on their a** or thighs or speculating that a woman must be pregnant if they look even slightly bloated.

Well I guess it’s ok to express my opinion since this is a public forum lol! I love Raven’s hair! I don’t care what type of hair a sista has, I love natural hair, the kinkier the hair the prettier I think it is. My hair is a combination of different types of hair so I am not biased. Regarding the middle pic, Raven’s face does look sunken, like a wrinkled look like how it looks when a person looses to much weight. I like the pic of her above sitting on the couch, she looks pretty and looks grown and like herself in that picture. There are people out there who struggle with weight issues and they do tend to go overboard. Everyone was not made to be skinny and there are some people who will never be skinny but they are very pretty and keep themselves up and in shape, like Monique.

I think alot of ppl are overreacting. That picture in the middle was just taken at the wrong time- she was not ready for that pic as evidenced by the awkwardness of her mouth. If you look at the one on the left and right, her face looks full and she looks fabulous!

i agree. picture angle can make a person look all wrong. she looks good and seems happy. just because a person is overweight most of their life does not mean they are “meant” to be fat. a lot of people are overweight and even obese and it’s more unhealthy than being on the thinner side (generally speaking). i applaud her for her weight loss efforts.
I don’t think people are saying that she is meant to be fat, it is just that she is looking like she lost too much too fast, and you can’t say that it does not happen. When she was on Wendy Williams show, she looked perfect, but something happened between then and now.
I agree there’s nothing wrong with Raven, and I just posted the latest video of her with Wendy. Her face definitely looks healthy and not haggard like. Sometimes we all may take unflattering photos but that’s not to say she is sick. She’s a great star, but I find that when I lose weight or put some on that my face changes.
Honestly I think she looks great! She doesn’t look gaunt or “haggard” at all (IMO). Having followed her career casually through the years, I know that weight is something she’s struggled with. I’m glad she seems to have found something that works for her, and I’m sure she’s enjoying her body.
No matter what weight she is, I think Raven is fabulous!
THANK YOU. I get so aggravated when people feel the need to call somebody “sick, ill, and haggard” when they lose a lot of weight. They say this particularly when a plus sized woman loses that weight, with no consideration of just how hurtful and negative it sounds. When a person has struggled with their weight, and finally loses it with determination, patience, and hard work, they should be applauded for it, not shunned as “haggard” and “sick.” It’s negative, ignorant, and hurtful. For all we know, this could be the happiest and healthiest she’s ever been with her body, and with herself. As long as she’s happy with her body, nobody has the right to say that she looks sick or ill. The only thing that’s sick and ill are the people who feel the need to be so negative about somebody’s weight loss instead of congratulating them for it. Raven looks fabulous and IS always fabulous regardless of her weight!
Agreed. I saw her on Wendy Williams a while back and she was slim, yet still looked curvy and healthy. Something in her face just looks off to me now. I saw the same thing with Star Jones’ face.

I think there should be a line drawn when it comes to losing weight because there is a such thing as losing too much and in this case Raven went overboard. Her face looks too slim. But she’s still cute.

I think it might just be the face she’s making in that second picture. The other two pictures look fine, but her expression in the second one is a funny expression, hence her face looks funny. I’ve seen other pictures of her and she looks fine at this new weight. She also looked great on the Wendy Williams show. She’s a pretty girl regardless, big or small and, as usual, I like to see natural hair in Hollyweird.
She know how she lost the weight and if it was through an unhealthy route, I hope people around her notice. She did drop the last few pounds from the picture below to the picture above in a pretty short amount of time. I hope she did take a healthy route because her results will be most importantly sustainable.

I have to disagree. When I lose weight the first thing to go is fat in my face. When I was chubby as a kid people would always pinch my cheeks and by the time I was in my late teens they said there’s nothing to pinch anymore. I honestly can’t stand when people don’t know what healthy looks like because they are so use to seeing thick or sometimes overweight women in everyday life. She looks fine to me, you’re just not used to this look on her.

In defense of Kurly Kels, yes, she looks “ill, unhealthy, sick, etc”. Kudos on the weight loss, but if it is not done in a NATURAL, healthy way these are usually the comments that are given.
True, only her doctor, therapist, etc knows for sure if she is lost weight in a healthy manner or if she is suffering from a physical or other illness, but for argument sake, let’s just say “she may not look as healthy as she has in the past.”
I saw pictures of her a few months ago, and she was a little bigger, her body was fuller, but she had lose quite a bit of weight. Her face was not as drawn in as it is now and the last few apperances she has made. I have to agree, there is a limit to everything, and she is too young to have her face so sunken in. It makes her look much older than she is. There will always be people who differ with what you say, so be it.
It’s a public board and people can have their own opinion, I had to do a double take because it doesn’t even look like her. The second picture is not a good look at all. Raven looks so good!!! I can’t believe. Her hair first off looks healthy and lively. But her weightloss looks so amazing!!! Her jawline is now more chissled and defined. She just looks really good with all of that weight off of her. Back when she was on “Thats so Raven” it always seemed like they were trying to hide her weight under layers and layers of clothing. Life is too short to be covered up all the damn time.

Everybody loves to talk about accepting different body types but as soon as we see someone who’s thin and not “curvy”, that whole thing gets thrown out of the window and they get called “anorexic” and “sickly”. I’ve been thin all of my life (it runs on my mothers side of my family) and I get sick of people telling me to eat more and be a certain weight just because I’m not a size 8 and/or curvy. Some people in this society are hypocritical and either need to have a seat, or stop being hypocritical when they say all body types are beautiful one minute, but then turn around and tell people who are skinner to eat more to fit into what you and others in society perceive to be an “accepted” weight. Raven and her hair looks fabulous. Do you girl!

I guess it comes with the territory of fame, but I agree that people’s attitudes are too often unfair, ridiculous and inconsistent. One day a certain female celebrity is pressured to lose weight and when they do, another group is insisting that she lost too much. One day the media is “concerned” about celebrities being anorexic and the next day the tabloids are exposing another group of women because they have 6 dimples on their a** or thighs or speculating that a woman must be pregnant if they look even slightly bloated.

Cute! And I think a lot of people aren’t use to seeing a skinny Raven or someone who has been overweight/chubby most of their life hence why they think she looks sick or haggard. I think she looks fine but I think the dress could have been taken in just a tad bit but she looks gorg nonetheless

Well I guess it’s ok to express my opinion since this is a public forum lol! I love Raven’s hair! I don’t care what type of hair a sista has, I love natural hair, the kinkier the hair the prettier I think it is. My hair is a combination of different types of hair so I am not biased. Regarding the middle pic, Raven’s face does look sunken, like a wrinkled look like how it looks when a person looses to much weight. I like the pic of her above sitting on the couch, she looks pretty and looks grown and like herself in that picture. There are people out there who struggle with weight issues and they do tend to go overboard. Everyone was not made to be skinny and there are some people who will never be skinny but they are very pretty and keep themselves up and in shape, like Monique.

I like her dress, I love her hair, and if those shoes are not killing her the way they’d do me, more power to her!

I think alot of ppl are overreacting. That picture in the middle was just taken at the wrong time- she was not ready for that pic as evidenced by the awkwardness of her mouth. If you look at the one on the left and right, her face looks full and she looks fabulous!

i agree. picture angle can make a person look all wrong. she looks good and seems happy. just because a person is overweight most of their life does not mean they are “meant” to be fat. a lot of people are overweight and even obese and it’s more unhealthy than being on the thinner side (generally speaking). i applaud her for her weight loss efforts.
I don’t think people are saying that she is meant to be fat, it is just that she is looking like she lost too much too fast, and you can’t say that it does not happen. When she was on Wendy Williams show, she looked perfect, but something happened between then and now.
I agree there’s nothing wrong with Raven, and I just posted the latest video of her with Wendy. Her face definitely looks healthy and not haggard like. Sometimes we all may take unflattering photos but that’s not to say she is sick. She’s a great star, but I find that when I lose weight or put some on that my face changes.
Honestly I think she looks great! She doesn’t look gaunt or “haggard” at all (IMO). Having followed her career casually through the years, I know that weight is something she’s struggled with. I’m glad she seems to have found something that works for her, and I’m sure she’s enjoying her body.
No matter what weight she is, I think Raven is fabulous!
THANK YOU. I get so aggravated when people feel the need to call somebody “sick, ill, and haggard” when they lose a lot of weight. They say this particularly when a plus sized woman loses that weight, with no consideration of just how hurtful and negative it sounds. When a person has struggled with their weight, and finally loses it with determination, patience, and hard work, they should be applauded for it, not shunned as “haggard” and “sick.” It’s negative, ignorant, and hurtful. For all we know, this could be the happiest and healthiest she’s ever been with her body, and with herself. As long as she’s happy with her body, nobody has the right to say that she looks sick or ill. The only thing that’s sick and ill are the people who feel the need to be so negative about somebody’s weight loss instead of congratulating them for it. Raven looks fabulous and IS always fabulous regardless of her weight!
That much weight loss so soon does not come from hard work. She does look sick and unnatural. By the way, I like Raven!
Agreed. I saw her on Wendy Williams a while back and she was slim, yet still looked curvy and healthy. Something in her face just looks off to me now. I saw the same thing with Star Jones’ face.

I miss this Raven. I don’t really like this ultra slim look of hers it makes her really look like Kid from Kid n’ Play.
She should have stopped there, she looks much better.
I think there should be a line drawn when it comes to losing weight because there is a such thing as losing too much and in this case Raven went overboard. Her face looks too slim. But she’s still cute.
I’m gonna be real, she looks plump in that picture. Not everyone is trying to be thick. Not everyone is comfortable at a plump weight.

I think it might just be the face she’s making in that second picture. The other two pictures look fine, but her expression in the second one is a funny expression, hence her face looks funny. I’ve seen other pictures of her and she looks fine at this new weight. She also looked great on the Wendy Williams show. She’s a pretty girl regardless, big or small and, as usual, I like to see natural hair in Hollyweird.
She know how she lost the weight and if it was through an unhealthy route, I hope people around her notice. She did drop the last few pounds from the picture below to the picture above in a pretty short amount of time. I hope she did take a healthy route because her results will be most importantly sustainable.
She used to look so vibrant! Skinny isn’t for everybody, and this is not a healthy look. Raven, please bring your cheeks and verve back!

I’m not judging from her body, I can see it in her haggard looking face. We all know she isn’t supposed to be THAT thin — so let’s not pretend that what is obviously unhealthy is cute…b/c it’s not. That’s the truth of the matter.
How exactly do you know how thin she’s SUPPOSED to be?! Are you related to her? are you her doctor? did you measure her bmi? Or maybe you did something else to come to that conculsion? All I know is she went overboard for vanity’s sake and her face is suffering for it. That is all…and when she gains the weight back, which she inevitably will (because of nature), it will be obvious that the pendulum swung right back to where it was supposed to be naturally. Then you can answer your own question about what size she’s supposed to be.

I actually CAN take the heat or I wouldn’t have posted my opinion. I knew people would turn the situation around and persecute me for saying was is blatantly obvious…because believe it or not, people in group settings are quiet predictable. I have to disagree. When I lose weight the first thing to go is fat in my face. When I was chubby as a kid people would always pinch my cheeks and by the time I was in my late teens they said there’s nothing to pinch anymore. I honestly can’t stand when people don’t know what healthy looks like because they are so use to seeing thick or sometimes overweight women in everyday life. She looks fine to me, you’re just not used to this look on her.

You say that, and YET you say that Raven is “haggard” and “sick.” How is that not rude and self-loathing? Not saying you can’t speak your mind, you’re entitled to your opinion, but when you come off as hypocritical and contradictory in what you say, and say your opinions are FACT or TRUE (no opinion is ever really a “fact”), it makes it hard to really take you seriously. I also noticed in other discussion boards on here that you say one thing, but then do the opposite. Similar to how you call a commenter “nasty” and yet you’re spewing negativity and nasty comments. I just find it amusing and “predictable”. 🙂

Bottom line is, NON of us is Raven Symone, non of us have HER body, nor will we ever have HER body so only she knows whether or not she is healthy or what her body “SHOULD” look, feel, or be like. Never contradicted a thing. She’s a beautiful woman, with beautiful hair, who unfortunately looks sick because she’s thinner than she ought to be. That is MY opinion and I’m sticking to it.
In defense of Kurly Kels, yes, she looks “ill, unhealthy, sick, etc”. Kudos on the weight loss, but if it is not done in a NATURAL, healthy way these are usually the comments that are given.
True, only her doctor, therapist, etc knows for sure if she is lost weight in a healthy manner or if she is suffering from a physical or other illness, but for argument sake, let’s just say “she may not look as healthy as she has in the past.”
All that aside, I am LOVING her natural hair!!!!

I saw pictures of her a few months ago, and she was a little bigger, her body was fuller, but she had lose quite a bit of weight. Her face was not as drawn in as it is now and the last few apperances she has made. I have to agree, there is a limit to everything, and she is too young to have her face so sunken in. It makes her look much older than she is. There will always be people who differ with what you say, so be it.
It’s a public board and people can have their own opinion, I had to do a double take because it doesn’t even look like her. The second picture is not a good look at all. But hopefully she is healthy because her hair is flourishing. But let’s respect each other’s opinons, please. A stranger arguing with you an a board is not going to change anything and we are not in high school folks. Instead of attacking people for their opinions, move on . . .
Oh my Goodness people! relax! if the girl wants to lose weight, then let her lose weight! to be honest I don’t think she cares what people think about her losing the weight, she lost weight because SHE wanted to.
