Along with being an actor and activist, Jesse Williams is a tech startup founder. He is creative director of the mobile app Ebroji — a database of black, Latinx and trans pop culture — while his wife Aryn Drakelee-Williams, serves as CEO. That’s right, she’s the boss.

The couple talked about their venture in an interview with Complex Magazine;
“Aryn was saying, ‘Emojis are so popular. Why on earth would there only be pink-faced emojis?’” Williams, his gray eyes gleaming, recalls. “‘Only white people get emojis? That’s preposterous! Somebody needs to make that. We need to make that!’” Cut to January of this year. Realizing emojis are so-five-minutes-ago technology-wise, the social justice-minded couple pivoted and made Ebroji’s core focus a curated GIF keyboard.”
Though Aryn is notoriously private, the vibrant 36-year-old posed with her husband and business partner Glenn Kaino and we are absolutely loving it.
