Oprah tweeted this photo from her new office at OWN and appeared to be ‘rocking the natural’. What do you ladies think? Do those look like her curls? The volume is amazing!

  1. Beautiful content! I think it is very well taken care of and it is set free with nothing to worry about wonderful display.

  2. Nice curls Oprah but we all know that, that is not your office or your table at OWN. I think you should wear your hair out more often.

  3. Extremely good content. I basically stumbled upon an individual’s webpage together with desired that will express the fact that I have extremely liked looking through an individual’s blog site together with threads. Anyway I’ll get following an individual’s provide for together with That i intend that will read an individual’s blog site for a second time.

  4. Why does it matter if her hair is relaxed or not? Sometimes, Black women with natural hair take themselves too seriously in that they think they’re better than women with relaxed hair or weaves. The beauty of our hair is it’s versatility; in one day we can go from curly to straight to waist length to short and cropped. So, get over yourselves and stop causing divisions between Black Women. And just in case you were wondering… I haven’t had a relaxer for over 10 years (before it was the in thing to do) and I bounce between wash and wear styles and a good old fashioned press and curl.

  5. In her new office, and still won’t have any black hosting a show on her OWN. I could be wrong, though…oh well…

  6. I think her hair is relaxed, but beautiful nonetheless! Oprah has stated on her show from time to time that she has always had extremely thick hair. She’s lucky! She probably will still have a head full of hair when she is in her 80s, while those of us with less thick hair will be trying to thicken up our hair. 😉

  7. Well texlaxed or not Oprahs hair always looks good, and her hair always grows so fast. My hair is thick like that which is not good for a brush or comb trying to get through it in it’s natural state is killing me lol..

Oh I came across a tumblr that I hadn’t before and wanted to share with you ladies. Here it is: http://blackandkillingit.tumblr.com/archive

  8. I think her hair looks great nonetheless. As for the office? Oprah is a consummate professional, I’m sure this is a temporary arrangement for her. That desk looks like a makeshift, fold up desk, she has cartons on the floor, and the desk lacks all of the necessary accessories you need to function in an office setting. By the way did you see her last office? No chance it will remain as is. I’m sure there’s a decorator fluttering about in the wings, ready to transform that office into fabulousness befitting Oprah.

  9. Soon as I saw this I thought: This can’t be her office. Lol. I’ll keep my thoughts on that to myself.
As for her hair, WHAT I would do for that volume! Ugh! Relaxed or not, that is some phenomenal hair.

  10. I saw Andre putting a relaxer in Oprah’s hair on one of those Season 25 shows. He was using a Dr. Miracle relaxer, which I thought was funny.

  11. I am liking the comments so far. Does it matter? It is her hair, however she wants to style it is fine by me. I get uncomfortable when we get into hair analysis mode. It is not always pretty and reveals our immense inferiority complex when it comes to hair. But, the comments so far is win – snarky and funny.

As for the office, she is better person than I am. If I were a CEO, I would have interior decorators work on my office. Having to work in an open plan environment will make you dream of all the things you’ll do to your office.

    1. I don’t think it matters. I am such a hair nerd that I am just curious about how people take care of their hair. Too each her own, but if what someone is doing is working for them, I might be able to learn something.

  12. lol…that looks like a makeshift office to me. Nothing I couldn’t handle of course because god knows I would be happy just to get a private office space. But really…I wouldn’t call that simplicity. That table is just to’ up.

  13. Oprah has repeatedly said that she is not natural. She has said repeatedly that she has a relaxer in her hair. She is what is referred to as ‘texlaxed’ where hair is relaxed but natural texture is still left in so that the hair is slightly stronger and less able to break.

Andre himself talked about relaxing hair but maintaining a natural look which many women here mocked him for saying. Yet Oprah with her curls is proof of this – relaxed but with a natural look.

Oh and I love Oprah and her relaxed hair 🙂

    1. +1 Yeah i’ve seen oprah getting a relaxer on “Season 25: behind the Scenes”…she still has beautiful hair though!

    2. I’m so glad you wrote this. When I was relaxed I would always do a wash-n-go and after my hair dried it looked like type 3c (think Mya & Alicia Keyes.) Then when I would go to the salon to get a roller-set & blow dry people would ask if I relaxed my hair. I would explain that its the same chemically treated hair, just heat dried. I guess there are those that don’t know that some ppl w/relaxed hair can have hair that curls on its own?

I also really like Oprah and she looks nice in the pic.

      1. I always texlaxed when using relaxers for this very reason, having hair that curls looser and is less damaged/damage prone than fully relaxed hair. There is a method to the madness lol

        and now… I relax no more 🙂

      1. I think people texlax to make hair easier to manage and they also want the option to rock defined curls too. I’ve never texlaxed, but that’s what some texlaxed ladies have said.

  14. It could be airdried relaxed hair or blown out/stretched natural hair. Who knows, but the volume is fab!

  15. First of all yall know that’s not Oprah’s real office, Come on! LOL Her office has got to have a swimming pool in it or something. But thats still my girl
