How did you and your husband meet?
N: We met at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 7 years ago. A close friend I’ve known since grade school attended the same school and introduced us and we’ve been inseparable since. We were married at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch in St. Louis, Missouri on May 30,2010.
Everything went perfect. My husband and I spent the whole day together. We took pictures at 9:00 that morning, ate lunch together and even got ready in the same room before the ceremony. We both still cried when I walked down the aisle. It was so special. The ceremony was held outside on a terrace with the St. Louis Arch as our backdrop.
After dinner the guests went back onto the terrace and the floor actually lit up while we danced. I couldn’t have asked for more.
How did you wear your hair?
N: I wore my hair pulled to side of my head with curls coming down. I knew I wanted to have some type of hair jewelry. I found the perfect hairpiece that would accent one side of my head.
What was your process of deciding how to style your hair?
N: Well, I knew I wanted to wear my hair natural but my family was not too convinced. At first they really wanted me to get my hair straightened and wear in a bun. I wanted to make a statement and was adamant about wearing it natural and doing it myself. It was my DIY project of the wedding:)
How did your family/husband/guests receive your hair at the wedding?
N: My husband really likes for me to wear my hair natural. I’ve been wearing my hair completely natural for about a year now, so the wedding was probably the first time most family and friends had seen it. They loved it.
