When did you and your husband meet?
K: We were actually introduced twice; Once in September of 2004 and then again in January of 2006. We got married February 24, 2010 at Lemongrass Fusion Bistro in Columbus, OH (this is where we had our first date)
How was your big day?!?
K: Wonderful! We planned everything in two weeks! You would have thought we spent way more time on things because the whole day was absolutely perfect. Great food, cake, cupcakes, family and friends. I could re-live that day for the rest of my life. I wore my signature TWA (teeny weeny afro) with a lace hair clip.
What was your process of deciding how to style your hair?
K: I knew I wanted to compliment my curls with either a flower or really cool hair clip. It’s the perfect length to have fun with different accessories. I found this hair clip at Urban Outfitters. After I found it, it was easy to put together the rest of my outfit.
Everyone loved my hair especially my husband. He’s seen my transition from relaxed to natural and can recite my hair regimen as well as I can.
Lovely! For more of Katawi check out her website.

Amazingly beautiful. I love the veil.
The most beautiful and original bride I have seen in a long time. Kudos! Love the black lace and hair accessory. And yes, the photography is excellent.
Wow! What a blessing! Thank you all so much for such kind words.
@qurlychic: I actually haven’t been to a salon since I BC’d. Everyday, I wash and go with Kinky Curly products.
I love the simplicity of your wedding ceremony! It sounds so nice and of course your hair and outfit is fabulous! That twa suits you well. I pray that God will bless your marriage also. 🙂

You were an absolutely beautiful bride! Your happiness is evident on your face; the photographer captured it so well! I am taking the pictures for one of my best friends wedding in a couple of weeks and I can not wait! I do not have a degree in photography, but I am asked to take pictures regularly because I have been blessed to be able to capture the special “moments” of joy just like you have displayed in your photos. I pray many blessings on your marriage. I’ve seen happiness and you have it written all over your face!
