When did you and your husband meet?
J: We met in high school. He was in the 11th grade, I was in the 10th and he was actually my first boyfriend! We were married on August 2, 2008 at the Chapel Dulcinea outside of Austin, TX 🙂
How was your big day?!?
J: Our big day was amazing. 🙂 It was everything we wanted it to be: small, with close friends and family and it was about the two of us. I wore a big puff that I finger picked from a twist out with big bangs I tucked to the side. I used the shawl that came with my dress as my scarf.
What was your process of deciding how to style your hair?
J: I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do until the night before but I knew I wanted something simple to go with my dress (that I bought the day before! lol. . . and it was the third one I bought).
Everyone loved it, especially my husband because he’s wonderful and supportive and in love with my natural hair. I even got complimented by a woman eating at the restaurant where we were having the reception. I felt great!

i guess this bride is one of the reasons why that feburary guest blogger dude complained about natural haired women with non-black males. though i must say she’s beautiful and her husband looks handsome too. all and all i’d say they both look breath taking.

First off, that dress is PERFECT. I didn’t have a wedding and have always been turned off by all the “ado” given to marriage ceremonies, but from the photos it seems your wedding struck the perfect balance, and wasn’t stuffy or over the top. Great location as well. Oh, and your hair was lovely!
