This picture has been circulating around the web and it is quite impressive. To be clear, it is photoshopped. Michelle Obama does not wear her curls out (not yet anyway…) although there are whispers that her hair is natural but regularly straightened. Ladies, thoughts?

If she is natural her hair is probably terribly heat damaged from all that straightening.

I love this picture with our beautiful first lady, Michelle Obama with natural hair. I think she should go natural and wear her natural hair out. She looks better with natural hair along with all Black women in Africa or in the African Dispora, like me. I am wearing an weave right now and I am natural under the weave and I rather wear my real hair. I wear weaves for convience because my hair frizzles often and takes some time t do in the mirror. I am a young Black teenage girl who looks up to Michelle Obama because she is beautiful, intelligent, refined, classy and she is not ghetto, nasty, booty shaking at all. .But like India Arie, aid, we are not our hair.
Why are we praising a photoshopped picture of the First Lady?? We have assumptions of how she will look with naturally curly hair but you don’t know how fine/dense/wiry/coily HER hair is. We have to remember it is Nikki Mae’s hair which is not only thick but very dense. The first lady is refined, classy and beautiful regardless of hair texture. It is HER decision how she wears her hair.
Americans would riot; we’ve already witnessed what happened when her daughters wore their hair natural and braided.

I have to say I quite impressed with this photoshop work, it look quite realistic at first glance.
It looks so much healthier and more beautiful than her straight hair. No one’s hair was meant to be heat tortured. She would look gorgeous with this look.
I love our First Lady to pieces, but I don’t think America is ready for this, lol…then again, I didn’t think America was ready for a black president until a few years ago, and look at us now! If she did rock a natural look like this, however, I WOULD BE ECSTATIC! I think it would propel the natural movement all the way into the mainstream.
I find it interesting how many are using phrases like “it’s such a shame” and “she would be so cute” the First lady in my opinion is the epitome of a classy, sophisticated, educated, home making African American woman. She looks beautiful and “soo cute” regardless of how she chooses to wear her hair.
I believe we as women need to stop pushing our preferences for others on them when they’ve clearly decided what course they want to take. Anyways, “natural” hair(I have relaxed friends who are not transitioning who’ve achieved this look, you don’t need to be natural to have the look) pic is fab, and the Straight hair pic is fab.
I totally agree! You hear alot of people saying that and it baffles me that people would honestly think someone is more beautiful if they do this or that. Regardless of the texture or style preference, The First Lady is elegant and classy period. I don’t plan on ever wearing my real hair, nor do I plan anytime soon to relax it, but I will throw on a kinky wig in a heart beat or a straight one. Nevertheless, it is a personal preference! That doesn’t make me less African, Native, French American or not!
Looks okay, but she’s beautiful just like she is. I have no problem with people who choose to straighten their hair since I press my hair every two weeks too. I just prefer a straighter looK.

i absolutely love it! i think she should def do this in real life. i mean, i love her hair straight to the way she does it, but this looks so much better i think. brings out her prettiness a lot more. she’s always classy no matter what hairdo or outfit she has, but i’m eyeing that dress favorably. >8]
Our FLOTUS makes me proud, but I don’t think America is ready for a natural first lady just yet….they’re still grappling with her being black.

I love it! At first, I thought it was real and was a bit saddened to find out it wasn’t. I’ve heard her stylist, Johnny Wright, say FLOTUS is a heat trained natural and I hope that’s still true, if it works for her. I think she’ll come on over to the naturally curly side one day. She’s fab, no matter how she wears her hair.
