Leila in Creme of Nature Ad

Hey guys,

I am so excited to be one of five women featured in Creme of Nature’s 2010 print ad campaign. That’s me at the right end of the first row. This ad will appear in Essence Magazine and a few other black beauty mags. Yay!

Regarding the actual product, have you used it? I use the Creme of Nature shampoo (before they changed the formula and bottle design) b/c the new stuff has SLS in it. Shame on them!

  3. Been meaning to get on here and say something… I was going through my new essence and saw the ad! Congrats and keep up the good work!!! I think I may try out some of the products!

  4. Thanks guys!!!

It’s not a TWA, it’s an updo. Full disclosure: I was having a HORRIBLE hair day when I had to go in and do the shoot!

So I pinned up the back of my hair and did this swoop bang thing in the front to give some volume.

  5. OMG CONGRATSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS LEILA! You are doing some AWESOME BIG thangs and I am so HAPPY for you! God Bless you and your career 🙂

  6. Congrats, can I say that I absolutely love your smile. It must have been a while since this shots were taken because your hair has grown so much. Hey, just out of curiosity – do you use this product for real because I skip past it all the time. Has anyone used it? Is there a product review for it? If not, then I might just have to try it because I am completely out of products and need to shop anyway. Let me know. Thanks and congrats again! :O)

  7. I saw this when I looked through my sis’s Essence. Congrats. I also recognized Bella from Afrobella.

  8. oh wow – just noticed that they have the most popular bloggers posted!
    Harlista
    Afrobella
    BGLH
    Nadege
I cant make out the other persons’ name or site

Thats some serious marketing to get our $$$$ — Is this a response to increased presence of forums and the new networks and support systems that have been created online among black women? Hmmm..

  9. THATS AWESOME LEILA!! You look so gorgeous! Did you like the products that are posted under your pic in the caption? That may be something the natural newbies want to know..

Every time I see the ad, I’ll point you out and pretend to my friends that it’s the first time I’m seeing it.
I’ll say, “Oh snap! Look! I know her. It’s my friend Leila from way back in the day.”
    What can I say?
    I have no shame.

    Congratulations.
    Your fame is richly deserved.
