*Prepared for BGLH by Meosha Tall of 1MeNaturally

Where do you live?
K: Hey, my name is Keisha. My friends call me Ghetto FaB!…lol. I currently live in The Big Apple, but I was born on the beautiful island of Barbados.

Why did you make the decision to go natural?
K: O.M.G. I wish I had a deep answer, but the truth is my boyfriend has been asking me for years “Why don’t you go Natural?” and “Do you know what that perm is doing to your hair?” I always had the same reply, “My Perm Is Poppin” lol. So anyway, the day came when I needed a perm and I asked the boyfriend if I could get some money and guess what? He refused and like many times before we had the “WHY DON’T YOU GO NATURAL” talk…So I did. Thanks Boyfriend 🙂

When and how did you transition into natural hair?
K: I didn’t transition for long at all. At the time I had a short cut and the sides grew out very fast so all that was left was the front with my permed ends looking crazy lol. One day I’m all dressed and ready to go and I just wasn’t feeling the front where the perm was so I just took the scissors and cut them crazy looking ends off. I jacked up the cut so my boyfriend had to come help. We did my Big Chop that day.

In what ways (if any) has going natural affected you?
K: I feel like I was reborn into this natural state of mind. I love saying “My Natural Life”. Going Natural has affected me in many positive ways. The way I dress, talk and eat. I am constantly looking at ingredients and not just in hair products. I also check what’s in my skin products. I always checked out the ingredients in my food being a vegetarian. We tend to do that lol. I love that even in a room full of Naturals I still stand out. We all stand out. I love all the beautiful people I’m meeting and the list goes on lol…MY NATURAL LIFE IS AWESOME!!!!!

How would you describe your hair?
K: My hair is AWESOMENESS! It’s soft, curly and kinky all at the same time lol. I have very thick, long hair that at times can be very disrespectful…She needs a lot of TLC.

What is your regimen?
K: I wash my hair every 3 weeks with Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. However I co-wash bi-weekly with Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner. I do a hot oil honey treatment every 3 weeks, which is also a must.

In my hot oil treatment I use rosemary, coconut, olive, tea tree, almond, castor, peppermint and wheat germ oils. I leave that on for 10 minutes. Then I put on my honey and olive oil for about 45 minutes. I started doing this treatment when I had my TWA and my hair loved it. My hair was much softer and it grew a lot too. 🙂 I detangle with Aussie Moist Conditioner. My hair needs a lot of conditioner and Aussie Moist is nice and thick. For styling I use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and the Deep Treatment Masque. I like to rock my braid-outs, twist-outs and my FaB updos.

What mistakes have you made with your hair that you’ve learned from?
K: The one thing I think about all the time is that I should have never colored my hair. My hair was so dry and my ends were jacked up, so now I know the deal.

What’s the best/most effective thing you do for your hair?
K: I MUST set my hair every night! If I don’t I will wake up A HOT Mess!!!!!!

Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
K: Check out my Blog http://naturallyahsiek.blogspot.com. Also my YouTube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/ahsiek1118?feature=mhee and Don’t Forget my Facebook Page. We Poppin Over There…lol https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ahsiek1118/124653050944957

  1. This is the right site for anyone who would like to understand this
topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that
I personally would want to…HaHa). You definitely put a new spin on a subject that’s been discussed
for a long time. Wonderful stuff, just wonderful!

  2. When these patients use the Detoxamin chelation suppositories,
their circulation is enhanced. If you want to camouflage some strands of grey hair on the run, the folks at Real Simple suggest
using mascara if you have darkish hair. When finding for a cosmetic
dentist Houston Dentist, it would be better to search for
one who has a wide variety of procedures in dental cosmetic.

  3. Hi! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out
and say I really enjoy reading your posts. Can you suggest any other
blogs/websites/forums that go over the same subjects?
    Thanks!

  4. Hey this is kind of of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG
editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get guidance
from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

  5. Wow! Thanks so much for sharing. Your hair texture is very similar to mine. I have been struggling with moisture retention, but it looks as if you have the solution. I can’t wait to watch your videos and try your remedies. Thanks so much. It is my goal that over the winter, I get my moisture retention issue together so that in the summer, I can wear my curls out, properly defined and cute and stuff, lol. Thanks!

  6. I was wondering if you’d mind sharing the recipe for your hot oil treatment mix. Mainly the measurements of everything since you already listed the ingredients. Thanks! Your hair is inspiring.

        1. What a brilliant book;one of the very best crime novles I have read : humour;pathos; plausible and convincing in its account of life in contemporary London, and I particularly loved the authentic dialogue-complete with slang and lots of funny asides .For what it’s worth I think the author should write a screenplay ; it would make a fantastic film.

  11. LOVE her videos so far! So practical yet incredibly fly! Already trying some of her styles – CUTE!:)

    1. Hey Coley I Have A Video on What I use on my youtube channel called My Current Natural Hair Regimen! check it out…youtube/ahsiek1118
