'I'm Wearing My Instagram Comments' Amber Rose Dons Bodysuit Covered in Insults

Amber Rose and Blac Chyna showed up to the MTV Video Music Awards donning a catsuit and gown covered in insults like “gold digger”, “stripper”, “slut” and “hoe”. Rose uploaded a photo of herself to Instagram with the caption:

When u wearing ur Instagram comments ? Fall the fuck back haters ?#VMAs

The pieces were created in support of Amber’s upcoming Slut Walk which is slated to take place in Los Angeles this October. According to Rose, the Slut Walk is part of the movement against sexual injustice, victim blaming, derogatory labeling and gender inequality.

When interviewed by Kelly Osbourne on the red carpet Rose remarked:

“They call us sluts and whores all the time, so we just embrace it.”

Blac Chyna also chimed in:

“We’re painting a picture of what everybody already says about us.”

Then came the follow up twerk video:

Although, not uncommon for Amber and Blac to upload a twerking video every now and again, this one seemed to really get folks riled up.

Amber later issued the following response on her Instagram:

OMG @blacchyna and I are the biggest Hoes in the World because we Dance, Love, enjoy ourselves and have fun all While our sons are warm and tucked into their beds ? Ppl wanna call us hoes cuz of that??? Then #HoesbeWinning #EatA?#AmberRoseSlutWalkLA

While Amber Rose and Blac Chyna aren’t necessarily reciting Bell Hooks or Simone de Beauvoir while twerking, does that mean the statement they’re trying to make is invalid?

Both women have been publicly shamed by high-profile black men (Rose’s exes are Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, Blac Chyna’s ex is rapper Tyga), and have born the brunt of disgust from men and women alike. Calling them ‘hoes’ and ‘sluts’ is almost ritual on social media. Kanye West stated in an interview that he had to take “30 showers” after dating Rose. It seems they are letting the world know that it hasn’t broken them or prompted them to change their approach to life (which involves lots of twerking and lots of ‘thirst trap’ Instagram pics). It’s also worth noting that they are trying to build their notoriety into a brand (sound familiar…), with Amber making forays into acting and recently launching an eyewear collection, and Blac Chyna owning Lashed Bar and recently launching a line of liquid lipsticks.

These women clearly see their sex appeal as an asset and won’t be shamed out of flaunting it, no matter how many times they are insulted or called bad mothers.

What are your thoughts on Amber Rose’s an Blac Chyna’s statement?

  1. The fact of the matter is that there are things that command respect and tings that don’t. Do I respect these two as human beings, yes of course. Do I value them? Hell No. I have no use in my entire world view for women like this. I have nothing to learn from them. They do not inspire or represent me in any way. I can’t help them in anyway and vice versa. They are just worth nothing and of no importance to me in my life. Should they care? No.

  2. “So we just embrace it”. But you organize a walk that I’m assuming is against it? Then post twerking videos in your statement suits… I think the message is very convoluted. I don’t want my daughter to be afraid of her sexuality, but I don’t want her to exploit it (or be exploited either ). I certainly wouldn’t want her going out with boys who are raised to be entertained and desensitized to such things.

I don’t know…tighten up the message, stand firmly by your position and maybe a few more people may be willing to jump on board.

  3. They can do what hell they like, the problem is doing what the hell they like with the platform they’ve been given. There are too many impressionable young girls and boys who look up to these so called celebrities wanting to be like them. It’s not the kind of behaviour I want displayed in front of my daughter. It should not be displayed in front of any young man either.

  4. They act like hoes, they’re gonan be treated like hoes. I hate how all these stans are defending them cause they’re black

    1. whats getting treated like a hoe?? It sounds like you believe these women should be dragged and demeaned…

  5. I don’t understand how Amber Rose and Blacc Chyna are bad mothers and hoes because they make a twerk video. People will see a woman on twitter make a twerk video to a slow song and she’s a goddess who knows her worth, but when Amber and Blacc do it, they are a shame and disgrace to their exes and sons? Wtf does their exes have to do with them? Their relationships are dead and done anyway. And if they were unfit mothers, they wouldn’t be the ones with custody of their children. Let them live.

  6. Ironically all the people attacking these women for the twerking videos make the point of the outfits completely. These women are chastised everyday for their sexuality, which is what the dresses are meant to highlight, and immediately after putting that fact in everyone’s face, they’re attacked again for their sexuality. The point seems to have gone over everyone’s head. Like them or not, what these women do with their bodies should be their choice, not everyone else’s.

    1. Ironically, Amber and Chyna (primarily Amber) have USED these EXACT SAME WORDS AGAINST OTHER WOMEN… and very recently.

I am not, by any means, a Kardashian-Jenner fan as much as the next person BUT hasn’t she mocked Kim West and her debut to the world (her sex tape) for OVER A YEAR… or TWO? And pointing to their first encounters with each other when Kanye decided to be unfaithful and cheat with Kim [knowingly].

She has also made comments about the youngest Jenner member, who is an unfortunate soul at a VERY YOUNG AGE, and said what has been said to her…

I think the “point” is hypocritical.

Amber Rose is not a feminist or for ‘other women’. She is for herself.

      1. Irony and hypocrisy aren’t the same. What happened to Amber is ironic. What Amber has done is hypocritical. Both can be true at the same time, but that doesn’t stop Amber from being a feminist if she wants to be.

  7. its crazy to me how men can be sooooo concerned with a female and how they choose to dress. it doesnt have shit to do with them. if that is not the type of female you want then keep it moving but there is no need to ridicule and judge a female because she chooses to show and flaunt her body. its a little suspect to me. and its crazy how you have females that are intimidated by the female body. just because you dont feel comfortable showing your skin doesnt mean that a female who does is a hoe or thirsty for attention. how about its HER body and she can do whatever the hell she wants. its not affecting you in any way. men can walk outside in nothing but basketball shorts and that is deemed as socially acceptable but when a woman chooses to show her skin or dance in a provocative way she is automatically seen a hoe and not deserving of respect. gtfo with that biased double standard.

  8. Who actually takes these trollops seriously? I honestly think they are taking advantage of the reality sexual exploitation that many women face and are trying to justify their actions. They are trying to get respect that they don’t deserve.

    1. and why dont they deserve respect? is it because they flaunt their bodies, because they arent ashamed of their sexuality, because you know their sexual history? you dont even know them so how can you sit here and say they dont deserve respect. everyone deserves respect no matter how they choose to dress or behave with heir bodies. they could probably be some of the sweetest and most down to earth people and you look past that because you have a close minded opinion on how a woman should behave

      1. “and why dont they deserve respect?”

Sorry but making a living twerking, sliding down a pole and/or doing porn isn’t going to hold the same weight in respectability as…i dunno…having a profession that requires clothing. Just because they may be nice doesn’t mean their actions should be revered. Get real. Many women are trying not to be viewed as mindless sex objects in heat.If they choose to that then fine. It’s their lives and bodies. But they shouldn’t demand respect. Simple

        1. Police officers wear clothes and kill unarmed black but they wear clothes so they should demand respect. Politicians lie and spend your tax money on their lifestyles but they wear clothes so they should demand respect. Lawyers like Zimmerman’s wear clothes and get killer’s off the hook but they can demand respect.

          1. Really? This is your attempt to defend hoe behaviour….ok lol. I don’t know where I was justifying giving respect to well paid criminals but alright. Sorry the reality is the black female lawyer is going to be respected than the town stripper. It’s unfortunate if that offends you -_-

          2. No its unfortunate that you’re too blind to see you’re part of the problem. They shouldn’t have to act or be a certain way to get respect. I just hope you apply this to yourself and don’t get offended when people disrespect you because of your race or gender.

          3. Soooo you’re comparing respectability of birth traits such as race and gender to grown ass women who have chosen to be strippers and/or pornstars….ever thought that silence could be your friend? Just wondering.

          4. So do strippers and pornstars not deserve respect? Are they less human than you? Yes I am comparing race and gender because you’re still too dumb to see it. Racist whites think blacks don’t deserve respect because they’re black but you’ll go off on them but yet do the same to others who have different lives and or careers then your own. Typical hypocrisy.

          5. Y’all the same people that will curse a hoe out for sleeping with your man….

      2. That’s one of the stupid arguments I’ve ever heard, If they choose to act like hoes, and dress like hoes, they choose to be disrespected as well. I hate how you’re trying to force this mentality that being a slut and hoe is okay, but when someone critizises it, they’re the bad guy. Why would your sexuality be something you want to flaunt? Anyone who respects themselves enough keeps it to themelves.

    2. Exactly, they’re taking advantage of the reality of sexual exploitation for their own agenda because they have nothing to offer. They’re selfish and don’t even care about regular women being harassed or attacked. It has nothing to do with the way a woman dresses. A woman can be attacked without being dressed like …. them. Funny because they weren’t so vocal about this issue when they were kept women but now that they have nothing to be famous for they’re doing this. They sure received a lot of attention with these outfits. And I also find it funny that Blac Chyna just did a photoshoot with Terry Richardson, a man that molested models and requested sexual favors with the models he worked with and basically took advantage of them. Feminism right? Or the other way to use the fragile social status of the woman to make money. What a mockery. Stop being so gullible.

  9. I’m not sure why American society is so invested in women’s sexuality. As a woman I am a fully functioning adult and I can make decisions for myself. Another thing I don’t understand is why women are expected to be the perfect role models, but men aren’t.

    1. I don’t know where you live, or what you’ve been exposed to, but where I’m from, men are DEFINITELY expected to be role models! Not all of them may meet this expectation, but there are a number who do; I’m married to one. He would not have got my attention if he did not carry himself with certain standards, and I daresay the same applies the other way round.

        1. To be quite honest, your statement wasn’t real evidence neither.

“As a woman I am a fully functioning adult and I can make decisions for myself.” That’s great! No… seriously.

There are PLENTY and many, many, many so-called “adults” that can’t make the best decisions and do NOT display the best maturity. Insert: Amber Rose, Kanye West, Blac Chyna, Tyga, Kim Kardashian-West.

There are plenty of males in the entertainment industry/spotlight, no matter what color/ethnicity, that are criticized for the fact that they do not display the ‘perfect family man’ archetype (i.e. athletes, musicians/artists, actors, and even politicians).

          1. Why are you replying to a comment that’s at least 5 months old?

  10. Well I don’t know them, only know a few of the husbands. With that said
If it look like a duck, twerk like a duck, it’s a Hoe.

  11. We are constantly trying to prove our worth as black women in one form or another…it’s overwhelming…

    1. Women as a whole… but yes across the board; Black women have consistently FOR AGES, been the most undervalued, underestimated minority as a whole.

But I do not see as Amber Rose or Blac Chyna as “women”.
I see them as somewhat of politicians using a big stance like feminism as a way of lobbying and garnering money. They have the same agenda as the Kardashian-Jenners, in which they supposedly have disdain for; yet ALWAYS around them.

  12. Respect for their right to be respected as thoughtful, educated and conscientious while being able to be sexual and flippant if they want to is not a contradiction. Mothers can be sexual, playful and silly. Their lives do not belong to their children and being a role model means teaching them that’s there a time and place for everything. They are three dimensional and seeing how opposed people are to accepting that is exactly the point.

    1. You are correct! Everyone has layers…

The problem is these two are in no way, shape, or form “role models”.

There are a list of reasons, especially pertaining to Ms. Chyna as to why she definitely needs to focus on herself and her child.

BUT, once being a parent (father or mother); the PRIORITY IS THE CHILD.

Why is it that when Amber ‘twerks’, she’s having fun, but when a Kardashian does it; she calls them out?

She is using this platform to sell books and gain publicity and MONEY; not make to make an utilitarian change that benefits many.

  13. I’m not for it or against it…

Personally I feel this ties into yesterday’s post concerning the divide and conquer meme created by mainly men….most of the complaints seem to come from men. Men who in the same breath speak of Kim Kardashian as if she’s the patron saint of innocence….

As long as they’re not laying hands on anyone or putting their children in harms way, I really don’t care. Someone may be uplifted by it, who am I to judge???

I don’t support it, but I won’t trash them for what they feel is their path in life.

  14. I guess they’re following the Kim Kardashian playbook: How to turn a hoe into a household name/wife. She did it, so they can too.

  15. I really have never understood why people feel the need to be so involved in other people’s lives like this. To the extent that Amber Rose and Blac Chyna feel as though they have to fight back in this manner.
No one said that you have to like what they do, but if they’re keeping their own lives straight (taking care of their kids and such) and not hurting anybody, then how is anything else they do anyone else’s business?

You don’t have to support their endeavors or like the way that they live, but jeez….let ’em live. It won’t hurt you.

And to that one twitter comment, I’m VERY confused on how they’re advocating for rape. Someone please explain that to me?

    1. Omg thank you! Idk why anyone cares. What does the two of them twerking and running around naked have to do with everyone else. I don’t get it at all.

      1. The problem is they are actually ATTEMPTING to make a political movement/stance off of this when, in fact, they are making money off of it.

Another problem is the audience/impressionable females (young, old, and in between) that actually rally behind them. But then again, that has to partially to do with gullibility.

    2. Because clearly they’re offended if people criticize them. They can choose whatever they want to do in their lives, and anyone else has the right to think of however they like about them.

They’re trash, and you’re being an enabler.

      1. Did I say that people don’t have the right to criticize what they don’t like? Did I say that people don’t have the right to think what they want about other people? No (in fact, I’m pretty much I said the exact opposite), so sweetheart, the next time you want to respond to me and accuse me of something then you might want to READ what I’ve actually written first.

I never said that people couldn’t do anything, I’ve only questioned “Why?”. It makes no sense to invest that much of your life and personal time into something that (in all intents and purposes) is none of your business. Why give up so much energy into talking about people you clearly don’t care for? If you clam to not take them seriously….then don’t take them seriously? It just seems hypocritical to say that they’re trash and not worth attention…but then you turn around and give them nothing but attention? Negative attention is still attention.

And if me advocating that grown ass women can make their own choices and do what they want (never said anything about not dealing with the consequences of that behavior, btw, but you know…keep putting words in my mouth), then yeah I’m an enabler.

        1. You are pathetic for wasting your time to type out that rant. There’s a fine line between setting limits and being hypocritical. LEARN IT. I hate people like you who only come up with excuses

          1. You’re right, I don’t have anything against this behavior because it’s not negatively affecting me in any way, shape or form. So….I don’t care? I really don’t make it a point to sit here and worry about the behaviors of grown folk if they’re not hurting anyone. Are they physically assaulting people? No? Okay then, here’s me not giving a single care. Look how happy I am! See how that works?

Trust me, if I had the means to actively silence your hateful self, I would’ve done it a LONG time ago. As you’re still able to comment on and reply to my
comments, rest assured I haven’t used any “cunning tricks” (seriously….wtf?) to silence you…so you can stop accusing me of it at any time.

I still don’t know where I said that I said that people like Nicki Minaj (when did she even enter this conversation,
btw?), Black Chyna or Amber Rose should be advocates for women (although I thought the only criteria for being an advocate for women would be
caring about the rights and welfare of other women, but okay, whatever). So I still don’t see how me saying “mind yours if it has nothing to do with you” is being a hypocrite, but okay (I’m starting to think that anyone who disagrees with you is a hypocrite or a horrible person, but whatever). Unless you’re talking about me thumbing down hateful comments? I’m sorry, I guess I just don’t like negativity. Notice I wasn’t going after people who disagreed with me, just people who were
being very hateful (and borderline misogynistic) about it. Nothing excuses hatefulness. Not to me.

You can give them a piece of your mind all you want….but why? They’re not going to read this. They don’t care about the comment section of BGLH. It’d be a different story if you were taking these comments straight to their twitters or Instagrams or whichever platforms they take to the most (you know, the most direct way to get actually get them to see your words). I mean, you could be for all I know, but if you’re not, you’re literally wasting your rage and your words on people who will never hear you. Unless your intent is
to not even address them directly….then you’re just participating in petty gossip. And five minutes or five years, you’re still giving up your time and energy to hate on them. So yes. That’s a waste of time, in my book.

“And if me advocating that grown ass women can make their own choices and do what they want (never said anything about not dealing with the consequences of that behavior, btw, but you know…keep putting words in
my mouth)”…..you still need to learn to not put words in my mouth, btw.

And Amber Rose is mixed. But if you’re one of those people who think that mixed people are basically the same as white people then leave this conversation right here because I don’t think I’d ever agree with you on
this point, so it wouldn’t even be worth discussing.

You sound like a very paranoid person and I honestly feel sorry that you think that everyone who has a different opinion from yours is trying to attack you. I really don’t know why you hate it when people don’t
share your opinion, but the way you’re going about it is incredibly childish and honestly I wouldn’t even bother in replying if you weren’t getting so many things straight up wrong.

            Find peace and be blessed.

          2. I’m not going to waste anymore time on you, but I will make a few points:

            1. You threw out your whole argument when you said that their behavior isn’t affecting you negatively- only being selfish about that notion. Just because it doesn’t affect you doesn’t mean that these women don’t have young impressionable people who are learning their behavior.

            2. “Hateful?” get over yourself. I am not going to kiss ass or agree with what any black woman does on here.

            3. Again with the hateful comments. I thought that you didn’t care and it wasn’t affecting your life, so why should some stranger’s comment effect you? Are you that stupid? Hypocrisy is doing the opposite of what you’re telling someone else to do, and I haven’t done that anywhere when I was rebutting your idiotic remarks.

            4. Now this is where it gets messy. The fact that you have the balls to throw around the word misogyny the same way as you’ve repeated “hater” or “negative”. Wouldn’t it be “misogynistic” to view women as sexual objects just as you are? No one has ever denied these women or any women for that matter the right to act how they want to, but what you’re doing is taping anyone who opposes’s mouth, wrong is right, bad is good. You are toxic.

            5. Why does it matter if it’s on BLGH? I can write the same thing on Twitter on Instagram, but by writing here, it’s providing awareness to women.

            6. Do you have an proof that Amber Rose is mixed, because many sources I can link says that she is definitively white. But what does that matter?

            7. I think that you’re one of those pathetic bandwagon hopping people I cannot take seriously. You’re one of those people who are indecisive, try to twist arguments and facts into their favor. It’s not just an opinion, it’s based on fact, and studies, and for you to think that you’re in control of this “discussion” is laughable. You are what I aspire not to be. and to be frank, I would say the same things I’ve said to your face.

        2. And since my other comment is pending let me make this clear” You don’t have to outright say that people don’t have the right to critizice necause there’s something called IMPLICATIONS.

Second, you said that it makes no sense investing that much of my life into something that’s none of my buisness. I didn’t realize that 5 minutes at much is half a lifetime. I am shocked. If you don’t care that much, then why are you going after comments that disagree with you like a vulture? It’s not that I’m giving them attention, I’m giving them a piece of my mind, and if you complaining about me giving them attention is a cunning trick to silence me, then you are just as much of a ***** as them.

And also you are explicitly saying that a grown ass woman can make their own choices and do what they want- WITHOUT CONSWQUENCES. Which is why you’re an enabler, One, Amber Rose is white LOL, and second, if you think that people like Nikki Minaj or even Chyna should be advocates for women, then you’re an idiot. You’re perfectly okay with this behavior. You see nothing wrong with it whatsoever/

          1. You’re right, I don’t have anything against this behavior because it’s not negatively affecting me in any way, shape or form. So….I don’t care? I really don’t make it a point to sit here and worry about the behaviors of grown folk if they’re not hurting anyone. Are they physically assaulting people? No? 16. One of the worst habits I find in the black community is this respectability politics. Emmit Till was dressed to the nines and well behaved when his folk let him visit his relatives he was still murdered… Are women really of the belief that what we wear determines how much respect we are deserving of? You can call the girl in a short skirt whatever you want, but what if someone called you out your name in a bikini at the beach? Would probably have you feeling some kind of way. I make funny vids with my friends and pets all the time; we can somehow use a few seconds of dancing and laughing to determine that Amber and Chyna are some how less of a woman than we are? Come now, you know that ain’t right.

    1. Funny, I believe what makes these females “less than women” is, in fact, “respectability politics”.

Funny how hypocritical Amber and Chyna are for this; how many times has Amber called Kim, Khole, and Kylie “whores” and “sluts”? Countless.
Didn’t Chyna talk about hurting/assaulting Kylie on her 18th birthday?

It’s funny how NONE of these so-called “women” display shameless behaviors that are OUTSIDE OF CLOTHING CHOICES (or lack thereof). Their catty behaviors/attitudes; pettiness; and advertise themselves in the light of bad publicity/negativity (see again Chyna’s threats).

And by the way, the “respectability politics” doesn’t just happen in the “Black community”; it happens EVERYWHERE–in every culture.
