T: Hi! My name is Ti’shay Green and I’m from the DMV. I am a 21 year old boutique owner, model, and lover of all things fashion!
What is your style philosophy?
T: “Fashion is mute without style”. Personal style is important. What makes you stand out from everyone else that follow trends. You don’t have to spend a bunch of money to be fabulous. Mix and matching is key.
How would you describe your sense of style?
T: My style is “modern vintage”. I love pairing timeless pieces with trendy pieces for the ultimate style look.
What is the process of deciding what to wear in the morning?
T: I usually think of one piece I want to wear that day, then I just mx and match different items to see what I like best. The hardest part is not being able to choose which shoe I want to wear.
What are the three favorite things in your closet?
T: An AquabyAqua backless bodysuit with exaggerated shoulders. It’s so comfy and matches everything. Minimal heeled sandals from Zara. I love them because they are very trendy and add that extra kick to every outfit I pair them with. Vintage high waisted trousers from a local thrift shop. They have such a timeless look, defiantly a statement piece that again I can pair with almost any top in my closet!
What are some of your favorite shops/websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
T: My favorite places to shop would have to be Asos, Zara, and NastyGal. I love these stores because they have very unique pieces for affordable prices. It’s rare that I see people in the same pieces I have on.
How long have you been natural?
T: I have been natural for 4 years now.
How and why did you transition into natural hair?
T: I did the big “chop” after my hair fell out from using so many different chemicals. My hair has grown so much since.
What is your signature hairstyle?
T: I change my hair so often, but if I had to pick a style I’d def say my buns! It’s so easy, and it really shows off my facial features.
Describe your styling regimen over the course of the month.
T: My regular hair routine is simple. I wash my hair twice, only putting shampoo at my roots, working it down to my ends. I then condition my hair, letting it sit with a cap for ten minutes. I apply leave in conditioner to restore moisture. I then bantu knot my hair and let it air dry. I like to use Organix Shampoo and Conditioner with Moroccan Argan Oil. My leave in conditioner is by Design Essentials. It comes in a spray bottle.

LOVE the braided style worn with the all white top & skirt ensemble–any info on how it’s done or what it’s called?
It’s called a crown braid, there are many variations (top crown, side crown, etc.) and can be done with a number of braid techniques (Dutch braids, herringbone, lace, etc., etc.). Google crown braids and you’ll find a wealth of styles and tutos.
