Beyonce is in Cuba celebrating her 5th wedding anniversary with Jay-Z. While there she rocked a heavy-looking set of box braids, red lips, cat eye glasses, and a printed top and skirt ensemble. Later in the evening, she rocked a printed dress with cap-toe heels.

Personally I’m loving the look! It has a vintage, Caribbean feel to it. Very nice.

What do you think? (And on a side note… what is up with Jay-Z’s white sneakers??? He looks like he’s in junior high. Beyonce, come get your man!)

  1. Bey inspired my current hairstyle. Love her style. I have boho/Cali inspired braids in right now. If you’re curious about what that translates into, you can see it here http://youtu.be/mSl58o9R-W4. <3

  2. I am tender headed, so I couldn’t rock braids like that, especially in an updo b/c it would be too heavy for me, but I think it is a very cute look—it’s very regal. Also I love Bey’s sense of style here, it’s very on trend, fresh, and classy. I would rock both outfits in a minute!

  3. Personally I love this look I total..I love the braids they go lovely with the african print attire and those heels are killer! But where’s Blue Ivy I miss though cheeks!!!!

  4. I think She looks Nice but i dont like the heavyness of the Braids ,as it suits her sister best. Shorter Braids would be the Bomb on her for me.. I like her Hair Natural and the Beauty in her natural face..Wish she wouldnt wear fur though.

  5. I love the look, but we need not know about each time Beyonce has braids. That look is not new. I guess her celebrating her wedding anniversary with Jay is something to pay attention to. And no, Jay doesn’t look like he’s in junior high. Don’t get on him like he don’t know how to dress. He’s a freakin mogul.

  6. Just heard this morning on the radio that officials down here in South Florida are looking into Bey and Jay’s Cuba trip to see if they broke any laws. I knew there was going to be a problem, but I’m sure Beyonce knows that it is illegal for Americans to travel to Cuba unless you meet 1 or 2 criteria. So hopefully they have the right paperwork and all is good!!

  7. When I first saw this picture a couple of days ago I thought there’s a hint of Carmen Miranda and one famous African Cuban performer (her name eludes me). The latter often paid homage to her West African ancestors in her performances.

    1. Tonia, I’m not a B fan neither, but she is making me want some box braids. Nice summer protective style. I just don’t want them dumb long where they put a strain on my hair or edges.

  8. I’m lovin it!!! She looks great, she looks like African royalty. Might have to get some box braids when I go to Puerto Rico this summer.

    1. Exactly, as a Caribbean woman I was like “why is Beyonce in Cuba with so much tribal print on?” and then here they call it Caribbean, when it’s far from it. She looks great, but that’s African.

      1. But can people stop calling African fabrics “tribal prints?” I simply cannot tolerate blatant ignorance, just stop. The Western world does the most.

  9. Nothing wrong with crisp white sneakers! Classic… Her braids are too dark and too many; looks really heavy.

  10. In the 3rd picture Beyonce is looking like “Booooy say something smart one more time!!” lol

    1. LMAO!!!! I really love their friendship/love/relationship they both seem to accept the other one wholeheartily. When Beyonce was breaking out she was criticized for her love for him. She attributes her growth to him but I attribute his growth to her.

  11. Beyonce is the only one who’ll rock box braids for ONE day and be back to weave the following day! Lol. I wouldn’t mind that, but once my braids were in, better believe it’d be 8 weeks before I even considered removing them lol. It cost too much time and money!

She looks hot, by the way. Seems very solange inspired.

  12. it’s a good thing Bey and Jay dress for themselves and not to please others. I think Bey looks great as per usual.

  13. B is actually looking very pretty in that “I-dont-try-too-hard-but-I-still-look-good” way. Did she take some fashion tips from her sister b/c she has improved greatly imo.love the braids also.

Take some time off, enjoy and come back with some good music 🙂

  14. Wow you read my mind with your comments. I thought the look was vintage and she looked absolutely stunning. Then I looked down at Jay-Z’s shoes and I was like why is a grown man like him wearing sneakers??? Glad to know somebody gets where I’m coming from…

  15. Yup, love her look in the first photo – braids, shades, lip color, outfit all rock. Shoes not so much.

Evening outfit isn’t my fav, but I think it looks good on her and shoes are “nice.”

  16. I think Jay’s mom is back there too! lol I love her look. The braids are nice, the African print is dope. Love the look. Looks like a beautiful west African lady

  17. I like how she dresses like she has respect for herself. She doesn’t just show her ass cuz she can. And that’s respectful of her man as well.

  18. Forget her hair and forget his white sneakers; is that her mother in the first photo, back left? Why is your mother on your anniversary vacation? That should be a time for them to (re)connect as a couple with out the parental figures.

    1. Jay-Z’s mother is also in the same picture. I guess they wanted to treat them too! 🙂

  19. LOL @Caribbean. People in the caribbean honestly dont dress like that, I like it though , the prints are really nice

  20. I have not seen Beyonce look this good in a very long time…she should really consider using braids more often. Niceeeee

  21. She looks beautiful. I agree with the other posters: she looks younger and fresher when she’s a bit more natural. Also, those box braids are dope…although they look terribly heavy.

  22. Damn, Bey looks exactly like the women and girls I grew up with in West Africa. I LOVE IT. She truly looks her best when she is casual and natural. While I also love her sexy stage get-ups and make-up, I wish she would the super blonde hair. Black hair or a darker shade of blonde truly complements her complexion.

  23. I love when she has dark hair. She looks so youthful and beautiful.
LOL at the comment on Jay-Z’s shoes. I’ve always thought the same…he’s 40+ but dresses like he’s 14 :s

  24. I love how beautifully ethnic she looks!! But living here in South Florida (which has a huge Cuban population), I wonder if there will be any backlash if she is seen as a Castro sympathizer. Crazy!!

    1. Ditto re: “backlash”. Hopefully others will be inspired to consider Cuba as a travel destination. It’s certainly on my list.

Also loving the photo with the chidren. The girls are natural, and one of them has gorgeous cocoa (afro) puffs.
