Take your updos to the next level with these six styles:
1. Classic Pompadour
Even though this updo may be a classic for some, it can be daring and new for others. Reminiscent of Janelle Monáe’s look, this style can be done on short or medium-length stretched natural hair.
2. Bantu Knot Out Updo
This style is super gorgeous, unique, and can be rocked on short to medium-length hair starting from a set of bantu knots.
3. Pinned Twist-out Updo
For this look, you can start with your natural curls, a twist-out, or a braid-out. Just pin up the back and you are good to go!
4. Criss Cross Updo

While this style looks intricate, it is not as difficult to achieve as it appears. You will need a lot of bobby pins, but it will be well worth it in the end.
5. Faux Shaved Updo
This style is probably the funkiest of the six but is fairly simple to create. You will start from a set of twists that are in bantu knots.

Also high on the “funk” meter is this look, which requires some basic cornrowing skills. (Sorry, non-cornrowers.) For this look, you will alternate between small braids and big braids.

I like all the styles
I love the Bantu Knot out style.I tried it on my hair once when it was shorter but it did not go well.Now my hair is longer,i will try it again and hope it will be cute because my hair is naturally fine and thin.
I like the Bantu KNot out one which is very cute and totaly the style I would like to rock once my hair grow longer and healthier.

i did get alot of “did you cut your hair” comments. Fauz shaved updo is really cute 🙂 it fits my small frame and face to a T and guys keep complimenting me on it (who knew). but i braid the back from bottom to top and leave my front deliberatley shrunken twists. i keep my “shaved” sides down with ecostyler , water and sometimes shea
The bantu knot updo is my favorite. I really like these kinds of posts, they give me inspiration (and more importantly instructions,) for what to do next.

The bantu knots look really challenging to do. I’ll try it tonight, but I’m a little worried I’m going to ruin it, lol…
No worries.. You can’t ruin a bantu knot because it’s just a curl.. you only get better and more defined with em <3 Either way they always come out looking cool.
