I just saw/re-posted this one recently that had me cracking up. Unfortunately, usually I already know I have someplace to go and just don’t feel like washing my hair!!! LOL!!

LOL!! Yes! I definitely was feeling the “need to sleep but can’t find my cap” struggle last night. I accidentally tossed it into my laundry pile and it took ages for me to realize that’s where it was! And I also laughed at free.99, haha. My mom and I watched some of the Roots marathon on BET this weekend and they had all kinds of relaxer/texturizer commercials. So glad I’m free from that bondage!!

TRUTH!!! i see sooo many women with hair that looks like THIS. omg it makes me sooo upset lol it’s like…so, what can you do with that? all the amount of fixin in the world shy of Mr. Scissors aint gon do that one. licka. good. Chiiiile, go NATCHAL!
I agree with Elle- I mean spending more money on “natural” products & slacking on bills, food just to feed your hair- it’s crazy lol- and I KNOW I saw hot sauce & broccoli/ranch dressing in that #washday REALLY!!!!?????
I agree with her partially. However I have natural hair and it cost me very little to maintain it so I don’t believe you have to use most of the kitchen products to maintain it. Only if you don’t know what you are doing.
These memes are funny. I especially like the Samuel L. Jackson one. Shrinkage like that can happen in 30minutes flat while commuting to the office with unforeseeable humidity.
overall this was very funny but i did wanna nitpick a few points. too tired to do that now so i’ma come back and go at it after my nails dry. thanks for this though!

the one that was like “hair looked great today. i don’t feel like twisting my hair tonight….next morning…” and the dude’s picture lol
it was humorous, but i didn’t appreciate that probably the picture on the left was seen as the desired effect and the one on the right not, considering…there was nothing wrong with the picture on the right. i just felt like it was a throwback to the whole “good hair/bad hair” overarching meme we’re still trying to fight.
probly readin into it too much, but yeah, i felt that one was a done a bit in bad taste…
I don’t think you’re reading too much into them at all. Several of them invoke stereotypes, about hair texture and black femininity. Hopefully audiences are sophisticated enough (as you clearly are) to understand the stereotypes so that they are more satirical than derogatory. But who knows…

But if you HATE it, and you have a bathroom, kitchen and bedroom filled with Brooklyn-mixtress conditioners, Italian oils, Indian herbs, African clays, Brazilian butters, Greek yogurt and a Vitamix – YET, you haven’t eaten a decent meal in months and have ConEd on your a** for not paying your bill and haven’t enjoyed carnal pleasure because there’s a plastic bodega bag slow-cooking your kinks overnight – then you need to drop the mic, and walk away from #washday!
Your hair will survive, you won’t be ridiculed for looking like ‘Celie’ (who was beautiful, btw, wake up!) and the world will keep spinning.

Actually, I fully embrace using green products and foods/herbs for hair and skin, they’re wonderful and can be very affordable.
I’m just a minimalist and believe wash day sagas, with conventional or natural products, are causing some women to miss the forest for the trees.
