Did the meme give you a good laugh? Which one is your favorite?

wow
Plus I don’t understand why you say that the majority of the readers liked the article when more people had negative feedback then positive. If you look at the comment section, only you and another person expressed their liking for the article, so careful with the generalization. We could interpret that many ways, maybe a larger amount of people disliked it, or maybe even ignored the article, they might have also liked it, that’s why just because you liked it doen’t necessarily mean you can generalized to most readers. We do not have that kind of info.
God forbid we post anything that has nothing to do with natural hair…..
….said no one ever when BGLH previously posted articles that had nothing to do with hair?
If you’re going to complain, please be honest: most of y’all could care less if this article wasn’t hair related, y’all just want to complain because it features a celebrity you’re “tired of hearing about”.
The funny thing is that you saw her name in the title, you all could’ve just saved yourself some pain and NOT CLICKED ON THE ARTICLE.
It’s like y’all WANT to complain about something, otherwise you wouldn’t BE here.
@EllieLo i’m sorry but I think you should just chill.
1. Many of the comments expressed precisely that they were tired of hearing about Beyonce in particular, so what?
2. the same opinion could be had about another article regarding a celebrity that we don’t find relevant to this website. To me, this post was as relevant as posting about Kylie/Kendal Jenner whatever. Just because Beyonce is black doesn’t mean I want to read about her all the time, and that is my right.
3. People are entitled to their own opinions, if you don’t like people expressing themselves maybe you should be the one not to read the comment section, because people might have a different opinion then you!
4. Your argument about not clicking on the article if we do not like the content doesn’t make sense. How are we supposed to express our discontent and opinions if we do not click on the link? That is what the comment section is for, it’s to get feedback, and engage! If you are familiar with this website, the readers here are not afraid to give constructive criticism, engage in debates, express what they want more of, and what they don’t want anymore. Simple. If you can’t handle it, it’s your problem, and I encourage all of us to feel free to express our opinions and not let ourselves be silenced.
5. Most of the time, when BGWLH has articles with celebrities it’s somehow related to natural hair, don’t try to make it seem like it’s a regular gossip website, the focus is not celebrities in here. That’s why many of us do not appreciate this article, if I wanted that kind of article I would’ve visited mediatakeout, bet, essence, or another pointless media source. But I come to BGWLH for precise, deep articles that vary in topics, that relate to my experience as a black woman with a focus on our beauty and health.
You keep bringing up that it’s your right to read what you want to read, and that’s fine and great, but it’s also your right (as you’re want to point out to me) to tune out and look at something else. Just because you have a right to do something doesn’t mean you always should. It just looks immature to come and leave negative comments on something that could’ve easily been avoided on your part. I came to this article because I was interested in the content. The only reason I even commented is because I’m just confounded by the idea that people would even click on articles they want nothing to do with. You have a right to negative criticism, but if you know you’re not even going to enjoy the article, why even put yourself through it? That just seems immature to me. Clicking on something you don’t like just to say how much you don’t like it.
And what about the people on this website who are actually fine with this content and have no issue with it? You make it seem like you and the rest of the contractors (the two other contractors, btw) are the majority of BGLH’s reader base, but it doesn’t seem like it. Just because three people are sick of hearing about Beyonce (when not related to natural hair) doesn’t mean the rest of us feel the same, and d*mn: We should be able to enjoy what we want to enjoy without negativity from a (seemingly) small minority of naysayers (…..who could’ve saved themselves the trouble of not clicking in the first place).
Your reasons for coming to BGLH are your own. They’re great, I hope they work out for you, but they’re not applicable to everyone. Yes, I come here for hair tips and hair inspiration, but I come here for fun, and to see what else is going on in the black community. The fact that articles like this even appear on BGLH means that I’m not the only person who comes here for that reason (they wouldn’t put articles out if they didn’t think people would want to read them….)
If you want a website that ONLY features “precise, deep articles that vary in topics, that relate to [your] experience as a black woman with a focus on our beauty and health”, there are plenty of other websites that probably offer solely that, better yet, you could probably make your own website! But you can’t just sit here and demand that BGLH changes its content based on what a few individuals have issues with, especially when it seems that the rest (majority) of the reader base seems to be fine with it. It does not work like that.
If you like the Beyonce article that is your right, I never pretended that everyone shares my opinion, or should share my opinion, as matter of fact, I invited all BGWLH readers to speak up, to say what they like and dislike. That includes those who like this kind of content. The feedback allows the writters to potentially adjust or better their content, start new conversations, have ideas for futur articles.
I do not demand that BGWLH changes it’s content, I gave my feedback. I feel like just because I expressed my dislike for Beyonce, and this article, you blow my comments out of proportions. The author of this article is free to listen or to ignore the positive and negative feedback. It’s an exchange! Readers can be infuenced by the writters and vice-versa, however, you can’t stop people from having their own opinions….That’s kind of how democracy works. This is nothing personnal. I’m a reader and I leave feedback that’s it. It’s not immature, it’s not superficial, the comment section is here precisely for that reason.
And if you are so disturbed by the ”seemingly small minority of naysayers”…you should not read the comment section. Because on every article, there will be people who like and dislike, some people who have different opinions. If you expect people to silence themselves out of fear of displeasing others think again, I find your intolerance for peoples opinions immature. This opinion that I shared, you might have thought it was annoying. But other people might have thought the same and maybe they were releaved to read that someone shares their point of view. Maybe they saw this article and thought it was unrelevent so they clicked on this article to check if someone shared their opinion. And I can confirm that 9 people liked my comment… who knows, people have different motives for clicking on an article and you can’t controle or police that.
If you think about it, you critisize me and other readers for going throught the trouble of reading the article and then giving negative feedback. However, you take the time, to come to comment section and get everyone who doesnt share your opinion and try to silence them. Why don’t you save yourself the trouble and the hardship? why don’t you just enjoy your article instead of trying to silence people?
If we follow your logic of saving yourself the hardship and the negativity, your behavior doesnt make more sense than mine. But I respect the fact that you are speaking up because that is your right. But like I said, my opinions are what they are. I use this platform to read AND communicate, and you will not silence me. You will not determent wich behavior is acceptable for me to have. I decide. This is a democracy people say what they want, unapologically.
I’d also like to add that we have posts here about black owned business that don’t always have anything to do with natural hair, and y’all don’t say diddly.
Welp.
So now we can’t even enjoy entertainment news because this is a natural hair blog? Compared to everything else we read on here from hair tips to social issues, I don’t think the few little articles Beyonce gets here and there are gonna kill us. It’s not over taking the site.
please BGWLH…give us a break with beyonce and her family when its not related to natural hair, or health…
How is this article related to natural hair ? Like It’s well known that y’all, Americans, consider Beyonce to be God on earth but really ???
Because she’s a black girl with a long…weave?????
I love this!! Beyonce is such an icon.
What does Beyonce have to do with natural hair?
Why is she on every web site targeting black women?
I’m having a little bit of a beyhangover. Too much Beyonce everywhere… for no reason.
1) in this instance, absolutely nothing, but BGLH has ALWAYS talked about entertainers even when it didn’t pertain to hair, because why not? It’s fun.
2) Gee….why is a successful black woman featured on “every” web site targeted towards black women? Whatever could THAT answer be?
Sometimes BGLH likes to let us know about the social trends happening with black celebrities. It doesn’t have to always be about hair. We can enjoy ourselves out side of hair. It’s allowed, you know….
Also….if you’re soooooo sick of Beyonce, then why did you click on an article with her name in the title? What sense does THAT make? As far as I’m concerned, if you’re simple enough to click on things that blatantly have her in the title (instead of avoiding her, like you SEEM to want to do), your Beyhangover is your own d*mn fault. Quit complaining. Don’t like? Don’t click.
The concept of, don’t click on an article if you can’t take seeing/hearing about a person/celebrity anymore, is not followed by everyone. I on the other hand do it all the time, but for some reason, others can’t.
Anyway, back to the subject at hand–the videos were cute and funny.
There’s a different Backyardigans one that’s my favorite, but these are all hilarious!
