How I Use Whipped Shea Body Butter Alongside Water-Based Lotion

My skincare routine doesn’t have 15 steps but I still consider it pretty extensive. Whether it’s in the morning or right before bed, I make sure to give my skin the daily TLC it requires. Now I have to be honest, sometimes I don’t feel like it! But then I think about how far my skin has come and how hard I worked to get it where it is now. That’s when I express gratitude, get up and take care of my skin! 

In the winter months, applying the whipped shea to my face is perfect for my dry skin. But when this ATL heat hits even BGLH’s notoriously light whipped body butters are too heavy. So to care for my face in the warmer months, I use a water-based moisturizer. Here’s how I do it: 

At night I take a shower, then slather my body with whipped shea butter. It’s best to use it when my body is still slightly damp because it locks in that moisture and gives me a glow. BGLH whipped body butter keeps my skin moisturized for over 24 hours, so I only need to apply it once a day! My favorite scents are vanilla, peppermint and rose.

Once I’m done with my body, I take care of my face. I wash my face in the shower with my daily cleansing wash from Cerave. After blotting it dry with a paper towel, I apply the skincare creams prescribed by my dermatologist. I highly recommend seeing one if you haven’t already! There is nothing like a personalized plan for your skin. Once I’m done applying my creams, I apply my water-based daily facial moisturizer also by Cerave.
