SHE FLEW FROM LONDON TO SHOP WITH US 🤯

Last week I was sitting at my desk in our backroom when my production manager, Vanessa, walked in. “You need to talk to this customer,” she said, “she flew from another country to visit the store.”

Out of town customers are pretty common at our Brooklyn storefront. We’ve had customers come as part of birthday trips, mother-daughter trips, and one woman who stocked up on her last day in NYC before flying back to Germany.

But as I walked to the front of the store Vanessa whispered.

“She flew here just to shop.” 

I stopped in my tracks. My brain could not compute that!

I gathered myself and extended a hand. Her name is Alessandra, and she is a longtime customer from London.

“So you’re here in the United States just to shop at BGLH?!” I asked, trying to hide my shock.

“Yes I am!” she exclaimed.

She explained that she loved stocking up on our products and had gotten friends and family in London hooked on them. At a certain point they decided that, instead of paying custom fees, she should just come in person, buy a bunch of stuff, and bring it all back. 

And so, there she was, with a wide smile on her face.

We are welcoming and warm to anyone who steps foot in our store, but my staff and I did our best to give her the VIP treatment 🤣. We offered to custom wrap her order and gave her a chair to sit on as she smelled our various samples.
