We used to run a Facebook ad titled “Bye Stretch Marks!” that included customer testimonials of stretch mark fading and removal. And there would always be a person in the comments expressing deep skepticism. Honestly, it’s understandable. Stretch marks are one of the hardest blemishes to eliminate. (Although some reports estimate that 70% of women have them, so perhaps they are less a blemish and more a natural feature of skin.)
But does whipped shea butter remove stretch marks? The answer is both yes and no. And I’ll use photos of my own stretch marks to illustrate the point.
But let’s start with the definition of a stretch mark. The American Academy of Dermatology explains, “a stretch mark is a type of scar that develops when our skin stretches or shrinks quickly. The abrupt change causes the collagen and elastin, which support our skin, to rupture. As the skin heals, stretch marks may appear.”
Shea butter is known for its scar reduction. It boosts collagen production and helps the body regenerate skin cells. It’s also thought to stop keloid fibroblasts — scar tissue — from reproducing, encouraging healthy cell growth in its place.
I can personally attest to the powerful anti-scar/stretch mark properties of whipped shea butter.
I gave birth three times between 2012 and 2016, and in each instant gained 50 to 60 pounds.

(Peep my belly hanging out of my pants 🤣🤣🤣.) As you can imagine, having my body expand and contract multiple times in a short amount of time resulted in stretch marks, primarily on my buttocks/hips and upper thigh.
I used BGLH Marketplace whipped butter throughout my pregnancy, and afterwards. These are close ups of my stretch marks today. This is my upper thigh.

And this is my hip area.

As you can see the stretch marks are just faint shadows at this point. They are far less noticeable and pronounced than they used to be.
Dermatologists agree that laser treatment is the only thing that can 100% remove stretch marks. But short of that, whipped shea butter is one of the most powerful treatments out there!
Here are verified reviews from customers who’ve tried BGLH Marketplace whipped butters on their stretch marks.
“I had this product less than a month, and I can’t front, I’m pretty lazy and don’t apply it consistently, but one stretch mark I focused on is gone and the others are fading. The one that disappeared makes me feel crazy like “was it even there?” It’s way better than any cocoa butter product I’ve bought from a store.” — Bryonna on Whipped Cocoa Butter

“I use the butter immediately after my morning shower, and my skin stays moisturized and soft all day long, even in harsh Midwest weather. I have also noticed dark stretch marks that I once had have begun to fade, some are barely noticeable. I did not expect this product to have such amazing results.” — Jaylen on Sandalwood & Bergamot Blended Butter
