well…I thought it was funny, hahahahaha. She’s just being silly Tamar. And the artists do have the right to request a certain look from their background singers.
The red was not working in that girl’s favor, plus she had on red and yellow like a bottle of ketchup and mustard.

Oh come on Natural Police, one they were referring to her hair color. Toni, said the girls hair to be black like hers. And, more important regarding Tamar, do you except someone who probably ownes 8000 wigs/weaves/lace fronts to say something positive about natural hair?? Its not different then naturals talking about relax chicks hair!
Exactly! If the natural hair police tries to make an issue out of this, they are reaching.
Clearly the backup dancer should not take away any attention away from the singer. Was her comment extra & unnecessary? Yes, but then again thats her niche on the show. They never mentioned her texture, just color. And even if she did, big deal. It’s her preference. It’s time we stop caring so much about what ‘celebrities’ have to say & just do what feels good to us.
I agree, it was more about the color. The girl auditioning was the one who mentioned how she usually wears a lace front. Tamar didn’t say anything about the texture.

All I can say is, the Braxton family ‘beauty’ regimen would be at a total loss if a ban was ever placed on Indian hair, collagen injections and botox! Lol!
Bless their hearts!
They never actually went after her texture. It was more about the color, which wasn’t really bad. The red and yellow outfit seemed to bring it out more.

I have to say, the comment was unnecessary, but she did look like Ronald McDonald with that whole look. And… if she’s a back-up dancer, she’s not supposed to stand out. However, they did seem to make a bigger deal out of it than it was. Reality TV; extraness is expected.

The red hair was not working in my humble opinion. Very Ronald McDonald like…I love the Braxtons but their hair is often a mess.
Tamar is actually natural though she just wears weave. She was referring the hair color not the naturalness. If it were red and permed i’m sure she would have had the same reaction. The girl can wear her hair as she pleases but she gotta get it like Toni wants it for her job.

I don’t think Tamar’s comment is anything to get excited about, I actually thought it was funny and I’m natural. She didn’t say anything negative about the girl’s texture, but since she has RED hair like Ronald and curly hair, she fits the bid for the “lookalike”.
To add to the previous comment, Tamar is hilarious, but she definitely needs to have several seats and stop piling on the make-up (looking like a casket ready Casper the ghost) and let the atrocious wigs rest in peace. Did this chick have in blue contacts during the audition? She’s just been looking a little too “Lil’ Kimish” lately and frankly as she would put it, THAT’S NOT HOT!

The girl DID look like Ronald McDonald, lol. As others have said I think it had to do with the color (which was horrible) and not necessarily the fact that the girl had a fro. Now if she had called her something like a red headed bush baby then maybe I would have had an issue. Plus this is Tamar we’re talking about, who takes anything she says seriously.com? lol

Tamar is not right, at least the girl has her own natural hair, and not wearing some one elses hair, to bad Tamar is so brain washed, she doesn’t even know how to be a black woman without trying to look like a white girl by wearing a weave.

Tamar is just one mean ass person, who seems to think that she has the right to disrespect others, girl get it right you are not all that hot yourself, and that’s with you wearing someone else hair.

So over-exaggerated. Tamar’s comments wasn’t out of line. She was referring to the ~color~ of the girl’s hair and that color was so loud you probably could see it from a mile away lol. Toni had every right to request that she change her hair ~color~, background singers are suppose to compliment the actual ~lead singer~ not over shine them. If old girl wants the job she’ll do what she has to do whether that’ll be dying her hair or slapping on a wig.
I agree with most of the comments, the Braxton comment was aimed at the color of the hair which was a bit off center. HOWEVER, the Braxton women are a bit off center. Can you imagine the amount of $ spent on weaves, wigs and thangs. Does anyone in this or the Kardashian family wear their real hair. It must be so expensive. I would rather invest in stocks
Yeah, definitely a dig at the color and not the naturalness of the style 🙂

Tamar was referring to that girl’s hair color. But I gotta say, in my mind, I would be thinking Ronald McDonald too, lol… Not because of the red hair only, but because of the Red hair along with the yellow and red outfit combo. Tamar’s mouth is justarunningfaucet.com.

WTF.…yikes! But at the topic at hand, I don’t think it was a dig at natural hair per se but so much of the color (which I thought was cute personally) but as mention Tamar (or her sisters) really can’t talk about anyone let’s be seriously here.
I’m not at all shocked or offended by this. Everything Tamar does and says is extra.

This is VERY offensive to me. you can say that it’s not about the texture but ronald mcdonald has curly hair. if the girls hair was straight do you really think she would say this? War between naturals and non naturals! i truly believe non natural black women are brainwashed with all their weaves. trying to look like white women. news flash youre not white and your hair isnt straight and blonde! ugh makes me sick!
even if she WAS talking about the texture of her hair, so? is tamar not aloud to have a personal preference of what type of hair she likes? and of course if the girls hair was straight , tamar wouldn’t have said this. ronald mcdonald has CURLY hair so she probably would’ve compared the the girl to the little mermaid or a not-cute version of rihanna. not everyone likes the look or texture of african american hair, get over it. and YES I’m natural my self and I’ve seen some girls with natural hair that look a hot ass mess,… Read more »

Actually the hair dyeing comment didn’t bother me. But the whole you need a wig or a weave comment was just sad. We have come farther but theres still a long way to go. She’s basically just emphasizing (like many other black people) the belief that natural hair is not pretty, beautiful, acceptable, etc. It’s an attitude and way of thinking that is bothersome. It’s not about her opinion but more about the mindset.
and Tamar saying the lady needs a wig or a weave is indirectly talking about her being natural. If someone doesn’t like something fair enough but to be rude like that to another human being just doesn’t make any sense to me.

The first response to the auditionee was to dye her black. Very rarely do backing singers stick out like that, it detracts from the artist. Second response made by Tamar was to cover her hair with a wig or weave. If she didn’t think there was a problem with her hair texture why would she suggest covering it, why not just go with the first suggestion. That is my thought on it. Finally , is it necessary to be rude to someone if something about them doesn’t agree with you?
I don’t believe it is a big deal. There is no need to insult her because she has not insulted natural women. I believe if she styled her natural hair in a more presentable way there would not have been a problem.
Who cares what some I was gonna say “has been” but she’s actually a “never was” Reality Show wannabe thinks about anything??

Okay um that was no big deal to me. Yes Tamar can be opinionated (understatement I know) but she just meant that the girl should dye her hair; I wasn’t really offended by that. It was the girl that knew someone would say something about her hair and went to on to say she can get a weave and everything. And Tamar didn’t say anything about her hair texture! I usually like discussions that come about on here but I don’t understand why this was so important that it had to be brought up… people trying to start stuff up… Read more »

this is coming from a plastic woman
This is true!!!!
They placed more emphasis on the COLOR, not texture. Although I did hear something about getting a lace front, but whatevz!

ewww nasty and ghetto. What type of female walks around looking like this? Disgusting.
