Using African Black Soap and Whipped Shea Butter for a DIY Spa Day

If you’re a fan of BGLH chances are that, like me, you love a good pampering and bodycare routine. My routine helps me feel confident and maintain a natural glow. Here’s what I do.

Step 1: It’s all about intention.

I treat my bathroom like a personal spa. This means that the environment is neat, orderly and smelling good. I like to run a diffuser while I shower and light a candle if I’m taking a bath. Once my personal spa is looking and smelling good, I get the water running.

Step 2: I take the first few moments of my shower to relax.

I let the water run on me while taking deep, refreshing breaths. Simple as it is, taking a shower is a form of self-care and self-care should never be rushed.

Once I’m good and ready, I lather my wash cloth with BGLH heart-shaped African black soap. One of the best things about BGLH black soap is that it lathers easily and quickly. Unlike other soaps I’ve used that take forever to lather and run out fast.

Step 3: Immediately after showering, I lightly dry off and it’s butter time.

Heavy emphasis on LIGHTY dry off. You know the saying “less is more?” This applies to BGLH whipped butter. When your body is still wet, it takes less butter to get fully moisturized. Why work harder when you can work smarter?!

Step 4: It’s all about that face.

You might be wondering, “Why didn’t you wash your face in the shower?” This is because I like my showers slightly below boiling. This temperature is very bad for your face. So I wash my face right after I shower with lukewarm water.

My favorite facial moisturizer is my special oil combined with BGLH Lemongrass Whipped Shea Butter or Whipped Mango Butter. A little goes a long way so you don’t need much for your face. Did you know shea butter has an estimated SPF of 3 to 7?
