So, I had this crazy idea to start a blog that celebrates the beauty, versatility and elegance of Black hair.
I was actually inspired by my own natural hair journey, which began when I chopped off all of my weak, over-processed hair on Nov. 28, 2006, and discovered, in the aftermath, that there were very few images of long, natural Black hair for me to aspire to. Not on TV, not in magazines, not on the runway, not even among Black female celebrities.
So, I figured Iโd get images of my own. I thought, what if I ask everyday women to send me pictures of them ROCKIN their natural hairโฆ whether it be locs, twists, cornrows, afros, whatever. What if we can just inspire each other, instead of depending on the media to do it for us?
Hence this blogโฆ I want it to be a place where Black women gather to drool over images of their own textureโฆ and be encouraged by its beauty and versatility.
If you want to be profiled on this site, just send your pictures to contro_versial@hotmail.com. Share the loveโฆ spread the word.

why does it have to be 10 inches or more, why not all lengths, all of them are beautiful.
thatโs a great questionโฆ the reason i want hair over 10 inches is to dispel the notion that black hair canโt growโฆ
Leila,
I think your blog is a fabulous idea, and I hope it takes off! Iโll keep lookin for new photos.
You go girl.
