Grammy nominations were announced yesterday and many felt Rihanna was snubbed for Album of the Year for the critically acclaimed Anti, and Song of the Year for her hit single Needed Me, which has been on the charts for nearly a full calendar year. Rihanna received 8 Grammy nods to Beyonce’s 9 — which some Rihanna fans interpreted as a ploy to keep Beyonce dominant.
Instagram fan account @rihannagang_ posted an image of Rih with the word SHOOK across it and the following caption;
“Congrats and all to @badgalriri and all for her 8 Grammy nods but tbh f*** them because they snubbed her for Song of the Year and Album of the Year. Like how my n****? I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough* [lemon emoji]. Cause if they wouldn’t have played her she would have been in the lead with most Grammy nods.”

Now, Rihanna actually liked the Instagram post, leading many to assume she was throwing shade. However, today the singer followed up to clarify that she was not trying to stoke competition.
“I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along! Til I seen it pop up over and over! I’m petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary! I wish y’all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture! We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!”

We’re here for Rihanna acknowledging her pettiness, lol. Ladies what are your thoughts?
