US Women’s soccer player Sydney Leroux is an Olympic Gold Medalist and now mom-to-be. When the new mom uploaded the following photo of her and her husband, British soccer player, Dom Dwyer tubing to instagram, she was met with dark comments from more than a few online followers.
Some of the comments weighted concern over how active Leroux should be as a 8-month pregnant woman, but others took aggressive accusatory stances that the Olympian would lose her unborn child due to her activity level:

Leroux, who is expecting her first child this September took to instagram to address the shaming comments with the following post.
It’s unfortunate that I have to say something but after a number of comments like: ‘you’re going to give birth to a dead fetus’ or ‘you just killed your baby’ I have to remind you that this is MY body. MY body is the body that is creating life. MY body is the one that has stretch marks and cellulite and varicose veins and sore hips and back pain that runs down my legs. MY body is the body that is tired and sore and emotional and the happiest it’s ever been. So if I want to jump in a pool, go on a tube and slowly ride around with my husband, dance like an idiot or work out I am absolutely going to. Leave your awful comments to yourself and let me enjoy MYSELF and MY body the way I want to.
While every body is different when it comes to maintaining a healthy pregnancy, it’s important to keep in mind the only people who get to make the call on prenatal health are health care providers.

No longer competing in the Summer Olympics in Rio, Levroux is ready to embark upon another life-changing event!
