Black Girl With Long Hair
We’ve seen glimpses of it; when she straightened her hair for her Dance Apocalyptic video, when she had a “hair malfunction” at a 2010 concert. But never before had we seen the petite songstress rock her legendary curls out and about (and unstraightened)… until now!
After an incredible performance at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee, Monae chilled off stage and let her hair down — literally. She looks beautiful! We are feeling this 100%.

i like that she doesnt always wear her hair out. Its as if shes trying to make it known that hair should not be a factor in her beauty or skills as an artist. I wont lie i do appreciate a reminder of how confidence comes from within, not from up top.

People are idiots. You can usually tell real hair from fake hair. I have hair like this and people are always asking me if it’s fake, as if a black woman couldn’t possible have hair longer than a few inches! SMH.

No hate but I do agree too it’s a weave… And I won’t say “BUT she is gorgeous” she definitely is, and I do not consider that wearing a weave is a bad thing.
WHat makes you say that it’s not real?
It looks too…”imperfect” to be a wig. It looks affected by humidity, a touch of frizz in some spots. I don’t see how you could think it’s a wig.
