Black Twitter is Trying to Make #AaliyahforMac Happen

Mac just announced plans for a ‘Selena for Mac’ collection based on the late Tejano music icon Selena Quintanilla. The cosmetics giant made the announcement after a grassroots campaign gathered more than 37,000 signatures. Now Black Twitter is working to do the same for late R&B/pop princess Aaliyah. Blessed by Aaliyah-collaborator and friend Missy Elliott, the campaign hashtag has been retweeted hundreds of time, and a petition has more than 2,500 signiatures.

  1. Dont understand the hype for Aaliyah. If black twitter wants a mac line for Aaliyah, they should try to get one for tlc or brandy. Aaliyah was beautiful but she wasnt that big or influential while alive

  3. I’ve never bought a MAC limited edition collection. None of them really attracted me. BUT an Aaliyah for MAC collection????I’d happily wait for hours in the rain for it. Loved Aaliyah, her makeup was always on point. I’m imagining a juicy red lipstick like the one she wore in her We need a resolution video when she has the blue sunglasses on…sigh
