Introduce yourself!
D: Hey ya’ll, my name is Danielle, Danie for short. I’m 23 years old and in my final year of school studying fashion merchandising Sam Houston State University. I’m currently living in Houston and working as a visual merchandiser.
What is your style philosophy?
D: Fashion is the clothing you buy, style is what you chose to do with them. Be Bold, Be Bad, and Be Unapologetic.
How would you describe your sense of style?
D: Hmmm, I would describe my style as eclectic, definitely a funky feel. My wardrobe contains a ton of thrifted pieces and I keep it trendy with shoes and accessories. I also go through phases where I’ll rock a certain “look” for a while, like for example, I’m definitely going through an late 80s/early 90s phase.

What is your process of deciding what to wear in the morning?
D: I usually ask myself “how are you feeling today Danielle?” and build from that. I’ll choose main pieces and layer from there or build from my shoes up. It really just varies lol
What are the three favorite things in your closet?
D: Just three?!? lol that’s a tough one. So one piece would have to be my army green anorak jacket. It’s a great layering piece that gives the look a tougher feel instead of your run of the mill denim jacket. I’m not sure if this counts as one thing, but I love anything that’s black and white striped. I have a few dresses, a tank and a skirt all with the same stripe and I use them to add pop when I mix prints. Red has been a color I’ve been feeling lately so my red cropped pants have been a staple in my summer wardrobe.
What are some of your favorite shops/websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
D: I LOVE thrifting!! There are so many hidden gems that really add a uniqueness to my personal style. I also shop at stores like Forever 21, h&m and Zara and online stores like BooHoo.com
How long have you been natural?
D: I’ve been natural for a little over three years now.
How and why did you transition into natural hair?
D: I transitioned for a number of reasons. The main ones were that going natural was an affordable choice at the time and I want to get my hair back to a healthy state. I started my transition October of 2009 and big chopped March 12, 2010. My go-o styles during this period where roller sets and braid outs.
What is your signature hairstyle?
D: It definitely has to be the braid out. I love the way it elongates my hair and  it most closely mimics my natural texture.
Describe your styling regimen over the course of the month.
D: I will wear a style for about a week and refresh it at the weekend. I love out styles such as braid outs, and once it gets frizzy I will definitely rocks an updo or a bun. I love products like Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and Giovanni Direct Leave-In has been my go-to conditioner since I started my natural hair journey.
Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
D: Sure, You can find me on stylisticaesthetics.com
