Since I’ve been keeping up with blow drying my hair twice a month, I’ve been curious about styles that I can create when I want a change from my usual twist out. A lot of naturals are aware of the ways that you can style old twist outs, wash n go’s, and roller sets; but there isn’t much chatter about styling blown out hair. Fortunately, I was able to dig up a few naturals who are pro’s at styling volumous, blown out natural hair.
In this tutorial, YouTuber ChiakaValentina, keeps it simple and creates five hair styles on her red blown out natural hair.

Style 1 – This style was created simply by smoothing down the edges and picking the hair with an afro pick. The look allows you to see the simple beauty of the afro.
Style 2 – After parting a medium sized section of hair in the front of her head, she created a flat twist. She secured the end of the flat twist with a bobby pin and tucked it behind her head. A simple, yet cute way of wearing a blown out fro.
Style 3 – This style was created by combing the right side of the head to the side and pinning with bobby pins, creating a chic side do.
Style 4 – After grabbing a small section of hair in the front of her head, ChiakaValentina created a high top knot and left the back of her hair free.

IdaraJoy created these cute styles on a lazy hair day.

Style 1 – First, she parted her hair on the side and loosely French braided the right side of her hair and secured the ends. Next, she French braided the other side of her head and secured the ends with a clip. A cute braided side do for a lazy day!
Style 2 – This style was created by parting the hair on the side and flat twisting a small section of hair in the front. The back was twisted and rolled.
Style 3 – This style was created by twisting two small sections of hair on both sides of the head. Next, the sides of the hair were gathered, rolled, and tucked into a bun.

TiffanyNicholsDesign created three easy styles on her blown out hair.

Style 1 – This style was created by parting the hair down the middle and on both sides of the head. TiffanyNicholsDesign then flat twisted each side of her head all the way down in two rows. Next, she pulled all of her hair up into a high pony tail and loosely two strand twisted random sections of hair. Finally, she secured each section with bobby pins.
Style 2 – Starting with a deep side part, leave a little hair out around the ear area, begin to French braid the left side of your hair. Braid the right side, then secure the ends with bobby pins while wrapping them around your head. Cute!
Style 3 – Her final style was created by making a part from ear to ear. Next, take the front section of hair and start French braiding from ear to ear. Take the back section of your hair and create a low pony tail. Finally, grab medium sections of hair and loosely two strand twist random sections of hair and bobby pin.
This blown out bun by IKnowLee is perfect for just about any occasion!

First, smooth your hair up into a pony tail with a soft boar bristle brush. Then, wrap an oversized hair tie around you head and pull the tie to tighten. Next, loosely twist random sections of hair and pin it while overlapping a few sections. Overlapping creates dimension and shape.
This tutorial by Tolani A.V is fun and flirty. All of these styles can be created in just a few minutes!

Style 2 – This style was created by parting the hair on the side and pushing the hair forward to create a side afro bang.
Style 3 – After leaving a large portion of hair in the front of the head out, brush and smooth the back of the hair up. Next, smooth the hair with pomade and secure with bobby pins.
Style 4 – This style titled “fro under a hat” was created by smoothing down the front portion of the hair and putting on a baseball cap.
Style 5 – Tolani A.V’s final style was created by sectioning off the hair and created a row of buns going down the center of the head.
