The Curlfest was back yesterday in Brooklyn, New York bringing together naturals of all textures and types. The free annual event, which is in its third year, was held in Prospect Park. With positive energy and beautiful hair (as well as melanin) all around, photographers were able to capture the true essence of the festival. If you’ve never been to Curlfest try to make it next year. I went for the first time and it was absolutely one of the best outdoor events I’ve ever participated in. Tons of welcoming women and men, activities and just encouragement all around.
I’ve been staring at these photos for more than 6 hours. It’s a winner for me.
