Ghana Braids (also known as “banana braids”) is a style that has been around for a while and is currently bubbling over with folks around the globe. The style is essentially your traditional cornrow style but much bigger. The style starts with hair braided to the scalp in a crescent pattern and loose braids that hang down the back. Take a look at a few styles that caught our eye.

Even Reality star, Toya Wright hopped on board with Ghana braids earlier this year.
Do you think Ghana Braids are something you’ll try out this Summer?
Omg!!!! That’s me! Thanks for the post ????????????
Lol. I think if I was featured on BGLH I’d have the same réaction. Call my friends, my family and making a little dance.
Absolutely beautiful.
these are pretty.
Yes. Definitely would love to try this summer. These braids are so beautiful
I love it! Definitely need to try it out.
Getting these just asked the hubby do you like these he was like yeah they are cool not that my hairstyles depend on him but he is my man ijs
Love the Ghana braids! However, some of these eyebrows.….
I can’t wait until I can fully do this with only my real hair. I love this style.
i thought this were just large cornrows with a tapered front? i didn’t know there was a name for them. when i’d describe how i wanted my hair (to the braiders) they’d say it was “special technique” and try to charge $40 extra.
This look is so old school though…
