Are you looking to spice up your protective styling routine? Then check out these six updos:
1. Roll, tuck, and pin – remixed!
The “roll, tuck, and pin” is a popular updo, but I call this the “remixed” version. You can start with your natural curls or on stretched hair.
2. Vintage twist pin curls
Starting with a set of small or medium twists, you can replicate this vintage updo. The style can also be modified for smaller twists.
3. Retro updo
This updo is reminiscent of American styles from the 1950s and 1960s. Start with your natural curls or on stretched hair.
4. Classic updo on small or mini twists
This beautiful updo is done on mini twists but can also be modified for small or medium twists.
5. Chic updo
If you want an updo that is super chic, try this one. Start from stretched hair to achieve this look.
6. Elegant curly twist updo
This updo requires a bit more work than the previous ones but is well worth it. Start from a set of small or mini twists that have been curled via flexi rods or perm rods.
Ladies, will you try any of these updos?
Love, love the chic updo. I’ll definitely be using this technique!„

Don’t know why you got a thumbs down loved the updo
THANK YOU
Loving it! Yes, always looking to expand beyond the bun I always rock on protective day.
Thank you for posting this. I have it booked marked. I’m not creative and it gave me great ideas for updos for my new job. I love having a plan b for when twist outs go bad.
I am a reformed wash-n-goer and my twist outs often fail. This week I’ve been experimenting with updos so my plan b isn’t a wash-n-go or cinnabun (played that bun out).
Perfect timing, I was looking for protective styles sans “the bun”. Thank you!
I love these “grown folks” hair styles! I cannot wait to have enough hair to roll it like that!
