Introduce yourself!
I: My name iSHE’. I was born in the Sunshine State of San Diego, C.A.
I’m an Artist/Singer/Songwriter/Dancer/Mommy! I Create & Design 1 of a kind Jewelry. I also help run a mentoring program that empowers young women.
When and how did you transition into natural hair?
I: Well I‘ve been natural for almost 19 years now! I was raised 100% natural. When I was 13 I tried a no lye relaxer, but my hair has always been rebellious, so the perm didn’t take lol. With that being said, I don’t really feel like I transitioned into natural hair. It’s something that has always been in my family. Natural hair was the norm, and perms were the exception.
How would you describe your hair?
I: My hair is STRONG! Super thick and fluffy, but my strands are fine. My mane has a mind of its own lol, so I know that I may leave the house with a certain style…and later come back with a different style lol. I’ve learned to accept it and let it just “Do what it do” 🙂
What is your regimen?
I: I wash and condition every 2 weeks. I use Aveda shampoo and Aubrey Organics conditioner. I let my hair air dry. I don’t use a blow dryer. I do a virgin coconut oil overnight deep condition twice a month. I trim my ends every 2 weeks.
How do you retain length and moisture in your hair?
I: Well I chopped my long hair off over the summer, so I’m actually not trying to retain length. It’s a little challenging because my hair grows like a Chia Pet lol. I have to make sure I get it professionally cut every month to maintain a fresh cut. My hair is full of natural oils (due to my diet), so I don’t use any products or else I’ll have icky buildup.
What mistakes have you made with your hair that you’ve learned from?
I: My biggest mistake was using the blow dryer when my hair was long. Even though it was an “Ionic Tourmaline” it still damaged my hair and made my strong strands weak and frail.
What’s the best/most effective thing you do for your hair?
I: I give it lots of Love, Fresh Air, Sunshine, lol (I’m serious). I eat fresh veggies and fruits everyday, drink lots of water. I basically take care of my hair from the inside out 🙂
Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
I: YES! My album, the “iSHE+HEZEKiAH PROJECT” is available on iTunes, Band Camp, Amazon and CD Baby! Listen + Purchase here: http://3crates.bandcamp.com/album/ishe-hezekiah-project. Anything else you want to add?
I: Don’t wait for society, or the world to validate your GOD given beauty…Look in the mirror and see a reflection of the Divine. Know that you were Created in God’s image…and she makes no mistakes 🙂

Beautiful. What I love is that she confirms the post submitted by Cipriana where she talks about the importance of diet. Taking care of your hair from the outside in is the best thing that you can do for it.
