How African Black Soap Cleared Up My Skin

By Jenell Stewart (pictured above) of KinkyCurlyCoilyMe.com

Do the words pimple, acne, black head, white head, hyper pigmentation, uneven skin tone, oily, dry, sensitive describe your skin?

They all described my skin at one point or another, and I’ve used every product known to man to help get my skin on the right track.  I spent lots of money on face washes, cleansers, exfoliates, astringent, toners, spot treatments, wipes, and moisturizers in hopes of clearing my skin.

Nothing worked well enough.  The results seemed promising after the first few weeks, but then slowly but surely the products lost their effectiveness. I was constantly seeking the next best thing.  Until one day I was introduced to African Black Soap.

What is Black Soap?

Black soap, or African Black Soap is made up of dried plantain skins, palm leaves, cocoa pod powder, and kernel oil and has been used for generations as a natural remedy for acne, eczema, body odor, and to alleviate oily skin. Its many uses include as a body soap and a shampoo.

Natural black soap  is actually brown and not black. It is a natural source of vitamins A and E and iron, and works for all skin types, from rough to sensitive. It keeps skin smooth and hydrated without causing oily buildup. It combats wrinkles, alleviates bumps and spots, is great for removing makeup, and is good for deep cleaning without irritation.  It can be used by any ethnicity and by men and women.

How do I use Black Soap?

I use black soap on my face only.  It removes my makeup very easily, which has saved me money because I no longer need to buy those makeup remover wipes!  I’ve been using black soap for a year and in the picture above you can see an up close view of my skin.

My skin is clear, smooth, and glows.  It has never looked so good and its new health is directly attributed to my use of black soap.

  1. I love black soap that’s all I ever used on my face and I have some beautiful skin.

  2. I just go to my local African Food Mart and get a huge chunk now. I started using it about 8 years ago, when I started doing everything naturally. At that time it wasn’t huge and I could easily find it in black hair stores. You can find it everywhere in the streets now lol. Happy shopping and clear skin.

  3. What moisturiser do you use after you wash your face with black african soap? Or do you not use any?

  4. I can’t live without African Black Soap. It’s a bit difficult to find in South Africa, so I buy it online from supermelanin.co.za.

  5. Shea Terra has the best black soap and shea butter products. A lil pricey but last forever and there is no chemicals. Plus, they support the economy of the places they derive the product from… I really recommend their black soap powder- I had it for a year. Their lotions and oils…

    1. Usually it breaks you out first because it is getting rid of all the impurities in your skin at that time and maybe after A week or two magic happens .

    1. beauty shops in town have it! you can also search “black soap nairobi/kenya” didnt take long for me to find! 🙂

  6. Use with caution, it can make your skin peel. (Mostly in delicate parts.)
Such as eyelids, under eye lids, in between eyes, Chin, sides of the upper lip skin.

    1. From the market. It’s even made in Nigeria but try to get the Ghanaian one as they tend to include shea butter

  7. Hi Black Girl With Long Hair,
Having a dry skin i thought it would not be so effective for dry skin but it actually was. Really nice natural soap from Africa. Loved it!!!

    1. I’ve found some at a beauty supply store in far north dallas. In the Kroger shopping center off Frankford and Midway.

  8. I ve been using black soap and honey for the dark circles under my eyes and it has been very effective.

  9. Eh you people in African Countries need to get off the internet and go to the market and ask your aunties about this stuff. It’s not new, kmt!

    1. Exactly!! My mom just called her cousin to ask her to bring some raw shea butter and ose dudu (african black soap)

    2. Lol it’s weird how all these wonderful things come from African countries but we struggle to get a hold of it because it’s not as widely available here as it is overseas, funny? Unless you’ve got the time to go look for it, internet it is!

    1. In Nigeria? Really? Go into any market…..I don’t mean supermarket, any local market and ask for blacksoap. I’m Nigerian but not currently there and wish I had access to the real thing.

  10. This is watt upon happy waffle lover needed to say. So in conclusion I will
say that there are, like I said earlier, other good and well-known brands out
there when it comes for kitchen appliances like waffle makers.
Tip #4: Take your own healthy snacks – During the day, it is healthy to have a high-protein snack.

  14. Plz if am to start using African Black Soap, what other natural acne treatment should I use afterwards as a moisturizer?
Am based in Nigeria and my skin is oily and prone to acne.I have tried a lot of acne products and it either whitens me or stops working after few weeks.
Just before I saw this post I was thinking nothing can be done to my face and I have given up on buying acne products,
Plz respond to my email, thanks

  16. I rotate ny blk soap and coconut hibiscus soap bar. This keeps your skin from becoming overly dry. I use the blk soap at night and coconut hibiscus in the morning. I have been doing this for years and it works. However, sometimes I have to go back to my Aveeno skin brightening face wash and lotion. But my skin is beautiful, no marks or acne.

  17. Hi, this weekend is fastidious in support of me, for the reason that this point in time i am reading this fantastic informative piece of writing here at my house.

  18. I have read so many articles on the topic of the blogger lovers except this post is truly a pleasant piece of writing, keep it up.

  19. Howdy! This blog post couldn’t be written much better! Going through this article reminds me of my previous roommate! He constantly kept talking about this. I will send this information to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!

  20. My daughter is already having problems with acne and our dermatologist recommended Citrus Clear – so I tried this and it worked immediately. She is washing her face and using it daily and is a much kinder and gentler than other acne products. She loves it !

  21. I love my black soap it have my face feeling and looking so much better I also mix bentonite clay a little apple cider and water and use it as a mask on my skin and it looks much much better I love my black soap o purchased my soap from black onyx world.com all types of natural things love it

  22. Most people will have some problem with allergies or allergic reactions at some point in their lives. Allergic reactions can range from mild and annoying to sudden and life-threatening. Most allergic reactions are mild, and home treatment can relieve many of the symptoms. An allergic reaction is more serious when severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) occurs, when allergies cause other problems (such as nosebleeds, ear problems, wheezing, or coughing), or when home treatment doesn’t help.

  23. To me it seems black soap selects skin. I hve also usd different colours of black soap like brown, black and even orange colour i.e the one packagd in plate.

    1. You can buy the African Black Soap in Antioch, TN (suberb of Nashville). The Hair Store is located on the corner of Murfreesboro and Bell Road on a steep heel. Not sure what the actual name of the store.

  25. Just so you guys know , when using the African Balck Soap in order to prevent the irritation n dryness to happen you shouldn’t leave it on your face for too long (they do say too much of a good thing is bad). Lather it up and massage/scrub ( I use a face brush) for about a minute or so then wash it off and immediately apply some type of facial cream(I use witch hazel as a toner before applying my all natural facial cream). Do this and the African Black Soap(it’s brown by the way) will be your newest friend. I do have oily, acne prone skin and my skin has become so much nicer.

  26. Years ago I used Nadina black soap and I loved it. Today I decided to purchase the raw black soap. I haven’t used it yet but I was instructed to add a little water and let it dissolved. I am hoping since its Raw my results will be the same as they were before but EVEN BETTER. Your face looks good

  27. I have been using the natural black soap for three weeks now and maybe am having an allergic reaction or something but my face is a mess, I have bumps all over my face an they hurt like hell at first I thought it was the way it works but now my face is jus looking terrible. It also leaves my face dry after every use and it makes it itch like crazy

  28. I am a Nigerian and have known black soap practically all of my life but never really tried to use it. Black soap, shea butter and all the natural oils are readily available around me but i never tried it till a few weeks ago. I just got real tired of my skin going from dry to oily and back. I also went natural with my hair so ive been doing a lot more research around the natural stuff.
I am a bit curious as to the black soap pics i see on most websites, cos its very different from what i know. That might be why some people are having a bad reaction to it. the black soap im familiar with is actually not made in bars, its more like lumpy powder. It must be those trying to market it that have turned it into bars and only God knows how much of the naturalness it looses or chemical additives they use to get it solid.
That said, i have dry skin and i bath with black soap twice daily. It initially felt a bit drying, but then my skin started glowing when i switched from store bought creams to a mix of natural oils. If you are doing the natural, i think its best to go the whole nine yards cos black soap was used with oils as moisturisers anyway. I use a combination of olive, coconut, almond and castor oils with raw shea butter. Its the magic.

The best way to deal with black soap is to add a little water and turn it into some sort of shower gel. It lathers real good and those still experienceing dryness can add a bit of melted shea butter and/or honey in the mixture. it actually does nothing to prevent it from lathering, but will assist for dryer and sensitive skin types.

I think i can send black soap and/or raw shea butter to anyone who is interested. Im sure we can run some kind of market across borders. You can reach me at [email protected].

  29. I tried black soap, it was actually black, it had all of the same ingredients but it also listed tar as an ingredient. used for four days my acne started to clear up, but parts of my face was on fire and it seemed like the part that was burning was developing scabs, scary.

  30. I’ve been using the oil cleansing method to cleanse my acne prone skin. In an attempt to go all natural with skin care products, I recently purchased African black soap from etsy. I did a little research prior to my big purchase.

After my first shower, my skin felt all dried out and was in need of deep moisturizing. After several uses, I find myself with a burning feeling. Like someone poured acid on my skin. Raw Shea butter helps soothe for a little bit, but then the itchy burning feeling doesn’t go away.

I plan to go back to my dove body wash to see if the itchiness continues. Maybe ABS is not for my skin.
I also find my tub gets all scummy after I shower. I like what one person commented-that you have the real soap if you have to clean your tub every other day.

  31. I really want to use black soap but im just slightly nervous. I dont get that many pimples but i have a lot of many black scars from old pimples. Does black soap take off black scars?

  34. Black soap is amazing for my skin……my advice is not to use any one that has any additives….buy the original one that u have to add water yourself….that way you are sure nothing will irritate your skin.. I broke out major… I tried different things and ended up with dark spots and new pimples…then thank God, I started using black soap, in two weeks the difference was beginning to show….the best thing to do is rub the black soap on ur face in the morning, wait 5mins and rinse it off, then apply lemon or lime and leave it on for 5-10mins rinse it off them mosturize….do that morning and night for a week, then use the black soap only once a day but continue using the lemon twice a day, gradually cut back on the black soap, to once every 2 or 3days, u can continue using the lime as you wish….trust me this works miracles….the reason you reduce the use of the black soap is that it has a slightly drying ability, also why you have to moisturize well…try it!!! You will never want to use any artificial product on your face!

  35. I also swear by black soap. But its even better when it also contains shea butter and lemon juice. However it is drying to skin as far as I’m concerned, only on my dry skin regions though…you get a tight skin feeling. I love it, cleared up my spotty skin, smoothened it out, evened the complexion and basically makes me look pretty lol. Just don’t get it in your eye 😉

    1. However I also only get breakouts when I eat oily foods, peanut butter or don’t drink enough water. I’m lactose intolerant, so dairy products isn’t really part of my diet anyway.

  37. Very nice post. I simply stumbled upon your blog and wanted to mention that I’ve really loved surfing around your blog posts. After all I will be subscribing in your feed and I am hoping you write once more soon!

  38. i’ve been using dudu osun black soap for a while now and it doesn’t really do anything for my skin. not sure why. maybe it’s just me.

  39. I used to have very oily skin and really bad cystic acne… I went to a lot of doctor’s who pumped me full of dangerous antibiotics and topical treatments that were so bad that they could cause birth defects in unborn babies. I was warned not to get pregnant and made to go on hormonal birth control. They told my it had nothing to do with my diet and that my acne was hormonal and only drugs could save me. I also bought every acne skin care line you could think of. Then I went on topical steroids which worked quite well but also lightened my skin, making my acne scars look darker. I hated the effect and so I stopped using it. My acne returned like a million times worse. I was so fed up I decided to try accutane which is a last resort drug. Despite all the warnings, side effects and the cost (that stuff is expensive) I went on it anyway. I was told my skin would get really bad in the first month but then start to improve. After 3 months of my skin getting worse and also very very dry, I got fed up with it and decided to try something else.

So I did some research on natural methods of clearing up skin. The first thing I found out was that despite what doctors tell you, your diet does play a huge part in how you skin looks. And that dairy is a huge skin irritant. So I cut out all dairy and foods that contained dairy in any amount. Within a week and a half, new pimples stopped coming and the old ones started to disappear. I took it a step further and cut out fried food, started taking more vitamins and eating much healthy, eating complex carbs, reducing sugar and wheat intake etc… and my skin completely cleared up. In less than a month, It was like magic. I still had some very dark scars and my skin was unbalanced, too dry or too oily… so I started washing my face with raw honey. Just raw honey. Nothing else. Now I’m at the point where I don’t need moisturiser or powder at all, I just wash my face with honey and go. My skin is smooth and even and perfectly balanced. I still can’t get over it. I’m now using only natural remedies to maintain my skin and fade my scars and it’s going really well. Another upside is that my hair is healthier and growing really well, my skin is glowing and my abs look amazing since I cut out white carbs.

So to recap, acne could be an allergic reaction to something you’re eating. Try cutting out dairy for 2 weeks and see what happens. Research natural ways to clean your skin… in a lot of ways, natural is better. Just thought I’d share. Sorry for the long post.

Attached is a pic of my face on Accutane, before I started eating healthier and a pic of the same side of my face about two weeks after I cut out dairy and another one (with the hair and smile) a week or so after that.

    1. I’m so glad you mentioned dairy because I was going to leave a similar comment. For the last 5 years I’d been suffering from acne breakouts on my cheeks and jaw line. I tried all the acne cleansers, several natural/organic options, washed my pillow cases 3x a week. Nothing worked. Finally googled acne and diet. I found studies linking dairy and acne. I’ve never been lactose intolerant but the last several years I’d begun eating more cheese as a snack or as garnish on food. I stopped buying/eating cheese and instantly my skin cleared up. I ate a cheeseburger at a restaurant and the very next day I had a large new blemish on my cheek.

Eliminating cheese from my diet is the only thing that has worked and cleared up my acne. I do use Shea Moisture’s Black Soap as a mild facial cleanser to help fade old acne scars.

  40. I forgot to add you can use it to wash your clothes and clean your dishes too, it’s multipurpose, you know you have good quality black soap when you have to clean the bath every other day – high fat content.

  41. Whenever I am in Ghana I get four blocks or so, it is really light and looks like a cake, the women carry it on their heads and you just call out to them to buy some.

I make mine into a body wash by adding lots of water and maybe some essential oils, a cake can last for a year. I sometimes use it on my hair but it is mega foamy and takes ages to rinse out.

Good to read that more people are enjoying this great Ghana product.

  42. African Black soap is the bomb diggaty!!! I use Shea Moisture African Black Soap Kit and it’s super awesome! I usualy have really dry, scaly skin due to eczema but it’s helped it a whole lot.

  43. I wanna try it but I’m sooooo scared to because my skin is VERY acne-prone. I’ve had problems with acne since middle school. I’ve used a million diffent products and been to countless dermatologists. I’m 30 now and still struggle with it. Her video is very convincing though and has me thinking about giving it a try especially since I too was prescribed Aczone and been using it for a while but it doesn’t seem to do much but make my skin peel. I’ll think about it but it would be totally life changing if it worked and I actually had clear, smooth, beautiful skin. I can’t imagine.

    1. Try MSM that is very good for acne prone skin. You eat it, it tastes like crap though.

The best one to get is from http://www.organicsulfur-msm.ca

I live in the UK and ordered it, it seems to be doing the trick, I’ve been using it for nearly 4 weeks now.

  44. I get a chunk of black soap from the market, put it in a plastic tub and put a little water in it. The texture is more “squishy” and gel like. I use the black soap on my skin every time I shower all over my body (then use peppermint soap on my body, not face). I also use it in my hair when I am doing a clarifying wash. The blocks of black soap are pretty cheap and you can find at most farmer’s market/health food store/stand. Basically the places that sell incenses and oils.

  45. I have tried black soap for heck of it I didn’t like the rough scratch feeling I got from this All african booth I bought it from. So I gave it up.

As for my skin remedies that worked for me I would say the oil cleansing method seemed to work wonders. But I thinking Regular Cold Pressed (CP) Castor seems to give better results than did the JBCO did. I currently trying it mixture of JBCO with cold compressed grapeseed oil, but I going to change the mixture with white castor oil next to see if any noticeable difference. But I might end up with my original recipe CP Castor oil with EVOO.

Shea butter is also an awesome skin softener*

*Once it not the yellow stuff they must have died that oil or added something caused a major flare up all over body. But now that done my research there is no such thing as actual yellow Shea butter only white (off-white, ivory, beige or cream coloured for unrefined), something is usually added to make the colour or it is a butter, African butter, which is from another tree all together.

  46. I have used black soap to shower and I have a friend who uses it to wash her hair. I like how my skin looks after using it. Very fresh and revitalized. It is important to get a black soap that is as close to natural as possible with little to no added ingredients.

    1. Yeah, I’m guessing that coal-black soap I tried years ago wasn’t the real deal… 🙁

I’m getting the sense that black soap is best for people with oily skin. Mine is fairly dry and I’ve never had any serious issues with breakouts, etc. Do people with my kind of skin use black soap?

  47. Honestly, I have been debating about trying black soap for a while now (like months lol) but after i watched this video i made up my mind and went to Amazon and ordered one pound. I have been trying to get rid of my acne and the resulting scars for years now and i am just fed up! I haven’t tried proactive, i have mainly stuck to regular acne-cleansers, but they never truly produced any long lasting effects. I’m really excited to get my shipment and begin looking flawless lol

Here is the link to the soap i bought from Amazon.

  48. Black soap is amazing. I use it as a bathing soap and facial wash(sometimes). Raw black soap can make your skin very dry so I mix mine with melted shea butter. It does wonders! Plus it’s very cheap here too in Ghana 🙂

  49. My skin is very prone to breakouts, and I have never found a cleanser that fixed it. I suppose it is more because I have hormonal acne that simply can’t be treated with soap. I think this sounds like a great product for most people, though!

  50. If the soap is too soft. I normally put about a quarter amount of soap to the amount of water. Shake it up in a bottle and squirt out what I need to use.

  51. I love it, I use it on my face and to wash my hair. I ordered mine from Butters n Bars but it’s good to know that Sally’s and some beauty supply stores have the real thing. I can tell the real from the fake, the fake will be black and hard as they have dye in them.

  52. now i’ve used black soap, but i don’t think it was the african variety. black soap works, but the kind i use can be a little too drying. i wouldn’t use it too much unless you have reaallly oily skin.

  53. I use the Shea Moisture black soap and it works great, it’s not harsh and sometimes I can go without moisturizing and whatnot.

I started using their whole line for acne prone skin actually and so far so good, but I might try another black soap just to see if it makes any difference.

  54. Black soap is great! I’m using it right now as part of my facial cleansing regiment. *However* In order to see the best results, I would argue that it’s best to also maintain cleansing, toning, moisturizing and exfoliating your skin. Best methodology ever.

Also – “Benzac” or “Benzagel 5 Wash or Gel” is fantastic! After I cleanse with black soap, tone with a toner that does not contain alcohol, and contains mainly natural ingredients, and moisturize, I put some Benzac 5 gel over top. My skin has improved in such a profound way! Clear, even, moisturized. 🙂 I’m one happy girl because of it. Use Benzac with a moisturizer because it will cause your skin to feel extremely dry, but it works wonders. You can get it at a drug store or Walmart.

    1. Have you ever tried following it with pure shea butter. Just take a tiny bit and emulsify it between your hands and use it on your face as a moisturizer. It definitely helps combat the dryness of the black soap and I have found that using the combo of black soap and following it with raw shea butter has worked WONDERS! I mainly use that combo in the winter when I need a good moisturizer, plus it’s pure so it won’t clog pores. Just remember that a little shea butter goes a long way. Don’t use too much or you’ll be super shiny, lol!

  55. i’ve never heard of this stuff before but i’m gonna order it on amazon and hopefully it works. 🙂

  56. I LOVE black soap! I’ve been using it for about 3 months now and it honestly is fantastic. My skin used to be very oily and I tried pretty much every high street brand for oily skin. It was soo expensive because I would always buy the cleanser, toner & moisturiser together. Anyway, I decided to try black soap as a last resort. I found that it cleared my face really, really well. This meant I didn’t get pimples or breakouts at all, which was strange for me as I was not used to smooth skin. Now I only have to work the acne scars that I had before. I would really recommend black soap because from experience it makes skin less problematic and so much more beautiful. Plus it’s cheap & lasts ages. Btw I use black soap with jojoba oil for my face and I’ve noticed my skin’s that little bit less oily throughtout the day. I’ll probably never give up my black soap

    1. Using milk of magnesia (yes, milk of magnesia) as a primer has done WONDERS for my oily skin. No other cleanser, cream, astringent has done a better job in preventing the oil from building on my face. trust me, it’ll change your life! lol

  57. Ive been using Shea moisture’s black soap for over a year and nothing. I will be trying a more natural one. I live in NY so there are street vendors selling it all the time in the city.

  58. Can anyone attest to these?
    1. The black soap lathers like no body’s business (more than any usual soap)?
    2. When done your skin is whitish..not dry, but as if its exfoliating a little too much?
    3. The soap does not stay solid, it’s soft and that makes it hard to use properly?

    1. U are soooooo correct with all three of these, i think the soap stains my shower brown until the next shower session. And yes water melts the soap you have to let it dry out when not in use so an open soap dish with drains.

      1. Oh yes how could i forget the brown stains on my white tiles. Arrgghh. Funny though with all this i will still use the thing.

    2. I totally agree! I have oily skin & black soap dries it out like no-one’s business. I’ve decided to melt it down & keep it in a tiny container so it doesn’t absorb too much water. This way I just scoop it out when i need some. Soo much easier than keeping it in bar form cos it literally crumbles away and leaves brown sludge everywhere. But i still love it though lol!

  59. I love black soap. I use it for my body, but I would love to use it on my face but at times the soap can get scratchy, I guess if I lather it in my hands i wouldnt have a problem, but i don’t like to use a wash cloth with this (it makes the soap dissipate). I crossfit 4 times week leaving scars and bruising all over. I am sure that right after a work out being drenched in my sweat and other peoples sweat that I shower with the world’s greatest soap because there are so many communicable things you catch from other in the gym (dermatological wise) but this stuff sucks it right off of my skin. I swear my bumps, calluses, and scraps from the barbells and kettle-bells disappear quickly due to this stuff. How about this one, I stepped in an red ant hill and they kicked my but, but after I took 2 Benedryl and iced it, that night I soaked my feet in Black soap and after two days you would known i was attacked and the itching vanished.

    1. What brand of black soap are you using that get’s scratchy? Actual natural black soap gets softer and softer, to the point of melting, each time you use it. Maybe you should try a different kind so you can use it on your face.

      1. I think its just me but i can feel the components of the soap at time like the pods, its just me!

  60. I’m been using African Black Soap, but the one I have is of a creamier substance. I wonder if its as effective as the solid kind?

    1. Proper black soap is soft almost spongy in texture, crumbly like a good sponge cake if it is rock hard it is not real thing. I know this as I am from Ghana and I have been using it for years.

  61. The Shea moisture black soap wash rid me of my bacne but I thought it would be too harsh for the face. Maybe I should try it

    1. I used the Shea Moisture African Black Soap and although I usually am satisfied with their products, this soap had my face looking worse than ever. I have very oily skin and adult acne.I was trying to go the natural route but this soap was too strong. I am going to try the all natural african black soap such as the one pictured above next. Keeping my fingers crossed because the cleansers that my derm has prescribed are entirely too expensive. But hey thats just my experience,it may work for you.

      1. I also have oily skin but my acne has calmed down over the years. I use “Clearly Natural Essentials Glycerin” soap, it’s available in grocery stores, mainly in the natural cosmetics section. It cleanses well without being overly drying. See the pic below, it also comes in different fragrances including an unscented version.

      2. I have similar skin, but instead of using black soap, I use 2Shea’s Castile Cube soap in the morning and the Olive Shea & Aloe lemon soap at night. It’s affordable and my skin is smoother and clear.

  62. i would love to try but i dont know where to get it on ground in the Us (i dont like ordering products they get too expensive) i live in pennsylvania, any suggestions for where i can find some?

    1. Any beauty supply store should sell it (except Sally’s). It should be in the section with the raw shea butter is. Most of the time the bar is wrapped in saran wrap with a sticker/label on top.
This is the kind i use:

    2. I’m also in PA for the year and my skin has been suffering b/c of some stress – where can I find some?

  63. I use Dudu Osun Black Soap as a bath soap. I use my DIY Body Butter (shea butter/coconut oil) as a body moisturizer.

Here is my facial skin care routine —

Make-Up Remover: Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Soap & a damp paper towel
Cleanser: DIY Oat and Chamomile Facial Cleanser (ground oatmeal/dried chamomile flower petals)
Toner: DIY Chamomile Toner (chamomile tea)
Moisturizer: Aubrey Organics Vegecol with Aloe Moisturizing Cream ; Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
Acne Spot Treatment: Now® Tea Tree Essential Oil ; Montagne Jeunesse Clean-Up Mud Masque
Face Mask: DIY Greek Yogurt Face Mask (Fage Greek yogurt)

This routine works quite well for my normal-to-dry, sensitive skin. Soon, I’m going to try Aubrey Organics Vegecol with Aloe Facial Cleansing Lotion (cleanser) and Now Solutions Jojoba Oil (add-in to facial moisturizer).

P.S. For more information about how to use oatmeal as a facial cleanser check out this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e5_RVBwNjE

  64. Wow, this is something that we’ve known for sometime back home (Nigeria). I actually sell this soap from my home and it comes direct from there. There’s nothing better than black soap, honestly. It’s good for more than just acne… it works on ringworm, rashes, you name it!
