I haven’t bought a drugstore lotion for personal use in 3 years. I actually went into Walgreens recently to buy one, just to get a sense of what is on the market, and when I squeezed it into my hand I was surprised at how gloopy the texture and how overpowering the “natural” smell was. The other two ingredients used in all our butters — coconut oil and almond oil — are edible. Instead of chemical fragrances, we use organic extract and essential oils, which are also food-grade. Because all the ingredients we use have such long shelf lives, we do not add any chemical preservatives to our butters.
