6 Styles You Can Do With the New Snappee Hair Ties

Avatar • Apr 28, 2016

Snappee hair ties are an innovative hair tie created by LA-based Keziah Okonkwo that doesn’t damage natural hair like traditional hair ties which are secured with glue. The ties come in many colors and snap to close, allowing you to use multiple snappees for ponytails, puffs, headbands and lots of other styles! Once it’s time to take the ties down, you simply unsnap them. The ties don’t pull, rip or tangle your hair. Here are several styles that can be done with the Snappee for both kids and adults:

Perm Rod Updo

Janae Mason slays this look by combining a perm rod set with two strand twists and the back of her hair, giving this curly puff a faux undercut appeal.

Twisted Crown & a Topknot Bun

Discovering Natural shows 3 ways to style a failed twistout — a puff, a twisted crown, and a topknot bun all using the Snappees.

Low Bun

Chronicurls shows us how to use the Snappees to do a chic low chignon — the bobby pin art is also a nice touch!

They’re So Easy, Kids Can Use Them!

Snappee’s can be used by the whole family, as Discovering Natural’s older daughter shows us by attemptinG a cute hairstyle on her younger sister.

A Mega Puff

I’ve used the Snappee to do puffs on my full and thick kinky hair, so if you’re worried about whether you can fit all your hair inside the bands, check out my full review.

Would you try out the Snappee ties?

Finally, a hair post. I love you, BGLH, but y’all were so focused on media/culture/controversy articles that y’all neglected and nearly forgot that this site was for natural hair care. Please make more posts like these so we can celebrate natural hair through proper maintenance. PS: Bring back the style icons posts
