[Pic] Omarion is Taking Protective Styling to the Next Level

Avatar • Feb 26, 2016

Go’on get it then Omarion! Mr O, who normally wears his hair in a tapered undefined fro, took things to the next level with a full on cornrow protective style/man bun.

Cornrows on men are nothing new in the black community, but they are being applied to tapered cuts in a new and unique way. Quincy Combs also sports the style.

I keep teetering on this…on one hand they look good, on the other hand my eyes don’t know what they see.

I’ll be honest. I actually really like it. I think it’s a clever use of protective styling in a fashionable manner.

quincy started this new trend and I must say I like it. it’s non-traditional and incorporates our culture of braids perfectly with the “man-bun” style. omarion took it to the next level by bringing back his own old braided style and mixing it in. chris brown just got in on it too. I would love to see him incorporate some graffiti designs in his head with his to make it his own. that would be dope
